NEK^RECRHU^, FOR INDONESIA

We are happy to introdupe Dennis and Lynn Free,Recruits to the mission work in Indonesia.
Carl met and talked with this couple in Atlanta, Ga. in March 1973 following the Georgia Missionary Rally. They expressed their deep interest in the Indonesian work and now they
have concluded that God has called them to accept the challenge of teaching New Testament

Christianity to the millions in this Southeast Asian country. Dennis and Lynn are making plans to depart for Indonesia in the fall of 1974. Currently they are serving with the church at Whitesburg, Ga. where Dennis has ministered since his graduation from Atlanta Christian College in 1970. Bro. Free's student ministries have been with the Hampton Church of Christ in Greenville, S.C. (an inner-city mission) and with the Hopewell Christ ian Church, Lawrenceville, Ga, His wife, Lynn, completed her work at Atlanta Christian College in January (1974) and graduated with a degree in Christian Missions. They join the Isles of the Pacific Christian Mission with high recommendatiDns. This couple is now seeking for individuals, groups and congregations to be their partners in carrying the Gos pel of Christ to Indonesia. They are available for revivals, faith-promise rallys, mission ary programs, camps and any group meetings where they may have the opportunity to present

their plans, hopes and aspirations to interested Christians. They may be contacted by writing to: Dennis and Lynn Free, P.O. Box 143, Whitesburg, Ga. 30185. Please do put this
couple on your PRAYER LIST and do all you can to speed them on their way to God's work in
Indonesia.

FISH FAMILY BACK ON THE FIELD What a joyous reunion^ our family was welcomed back to Indonesia with the warmth and
love of Christian brethren overflowing in beaming smiles, firm handshakes, embraces and tears. Expressions of amazement were constantly heard about Philip's growth to a height above the stature of many of his friends here. Many said he had grown tall with the same speed of grow ing bamboo. Likewise, we could see the changes in them and the marvelous Christian maturity in several. It was so good to be back, to pray together again, to plan for the expansion of Christ's work, to open the Scriptures and to talk of God's goodness and provision. We praise His Name for all these bountiful blessings. Carl spent one month in Indonesia prior to the entry of Grace and Philip. He left them in Chiang Mai, Thailand with the Church of Christ missionaries while he came ahead to prepare the way for our family to obtain new visas. He also had the job of moving all our household goods from our house in Bandung before Dec. 15th as the rental contract had expired and we just could not afford the exorbitant costs of re-renting there. Also, Carl found new doors opening for the New Testament Church in East Java and he and Paulus Trimanto made a week's trip into

that area, preaching and meeting with people interested in working with our missionaries. Within a matter of,a few days.from now the whole Fish family will be going back to East Java

to seek a house to rent there. "''^fle^feel God has given us an opportunity we dare not pass by.
It will ^ean moving our home and the printing ministry to that area, but we know God will

provide l^l^means to do it.

We are convinced that He has even greater things in store for

the cause of 'Chir^st-^han we've experienced our first term on this field. Another answer to prayer came through the Lord's providing a NEW sponsoring group for the Fish and Free families,

Such sponsorship is needed if we are to obtain new semi-permanent visas to work in Indonesia. At present the legal papers have been drawn up and soon we will be registered with the

government and our NEW sponsorship can then make request for our formal entry and accept ance as missionaries. In the meantime, we ask your definite PRAYERS for the speedy com
pletion of these legal details so we can remain here. Our field address will be maintained

in Bandung until we obtain a new one in East Java, however, there is a slight change to the
former address.

The opening of our Leadership Training School Sept. 2nd

Church. These, pictured, will return to their villages to teach others what they were taught here. A small garage
was converted into a classroom a t our home and a house in

the village of Punten was rented for two years for dormi tory space. We are sure this type of Bible education will draw many to study with us and we pray i t will accomplish both the opening of NEW areas for reaching souls and build up already existing Christians. Our next session is sched uled to begin in January. At right (bottom photo) are the teachers. These men are all striving to bring the message of New Testament Christian TRUTH to their own people. ?Je praise God for their faith and vision.

SORROW Struck suddenly on Sat. afternoon, Nov. 16th when Bro. Heru Moeljono (tallest in photo at right),one of
our best teachers, met with an accident and died in Bandung t while on a trip with Carl and Bro. Paul us. He left the place where we were staying and, alone, started for another address to pick up some clothing, but he either fainted or fell

over a doormat (no one saw what actually happened) and broke

It came as a severe shock to all who knew this humble man of God. Carl preached his funeral and burial in Bandung the following day (Lord's Day) at 2 PM. He was a man of great
patience and had known much physical suffering (two bouts with T.B. and the removal of one lung). He was a respected

counselor to all who came to him for help and advice. During the Fish family's first term in Indonesia, he assisted them as a translator and then joined them this year as a member of their new sponsoring group and co-worker for the cause of Mew Testament Christianity. His acquaint ance with government leaders and how and when to approach the right people to obtain legal documents for our work is also a great loss to us. However, we know that our loss is gain to Bro. Heru, for his life's work has ended and God has called him home where he shall experience no more physical pain or suffering. He lives on in our memories and through the results of his faithful Christian witness. We look forv/ard to meeting him again In that heavenly home above. PRAY that the Lord will bring us another man of like-vision and strength of faith to work with us. PRAY for Dennis and Lynn Free who also plan to help in leadership training work as soon as they finish language study.

- CHURCHES have dropped a total of $130 per month LIVING-LINK support of the Fish familyl! Needless to say, this has placed a severe strain

l..The Fish family expresses Christian sympathy to the Jerry York family, ministers of one of our living-link churches at Conneautville, Pa., in the tragic death of their two daugh
ters and only children in August. We PRAY God will ease their heartache and pour out His loving comfort and peace upon them.
2..Dennis and Lynn Free's visas are NOW in the final stages of processing. PRAY that they will be given FULL APPROVAL and be able to enter Indonesia in January to begin their
wcrk with us.

3..The "Christian Sounds"...19 youth from Bandung, presented the Gospel in musical concert THREE times to hundreds of non-Christians in Malang, Batu and Punten on Sept. 27-28. Al though i t was during the Moslem fasting season, the response was good and many new con tacts were made. The presentation in Punten was made from the Fish's front porch and the heads cf the village with their families were present and even spoke words of welcome to
our household. PRAY for these Christian musicians and for the NEW souls reached here.

How truly grateful we are to the many friends and churches who provided monies
