. The Flame of Kriya
HE ancient scientific art of YOGA is ‘ndia's
worthy contribution to world-thought An
immortal Dynamo that has been generating
this soutsaving electricity of Yoga for centuries is
BABAII, the Reviver of KRIYA which is a form of
"Raja Yoga. In the nineteenth century
iva, the torch of Kriya was carried from the
Sangsh — Fount-Source in the calm, holy, secluded
Himalayas into the dusty, dark haunts
of suffering humanity by Lahiri Mahasaya, the
first favourite disciple of Sathguru Babaji in the
modern era.
Rejecing all publicity L. Mahasaya catered to
the needs of the never-ending stream of Kriya
aspirants with unabated missionary zeal right up to
Se last moment of his life. Then the mantle
“descended 8n his foremost disciple, Sri Swami
Yukteswar who organised Sadhu Sabhas at many
places and thus brought into existence a regular
organisation to carry on the Kriya Mission.
During his @fetime he trained in his hermitage
his successor, Paramahamsa Yogananda Giri who
was the worthy ward selected by the Kriya Mula
Guru for the purpose. Yoganandaji established a
Yoga school at Ranchi and then carried the fleme of
Kriya to foreign countries. In 1936 Sri Swami
Yukteswar passed away and the heavy responsibility
