The Culinary Club Constitution Article I (Name) The name of the organization shall be the Culinary Club.

Article II (Objective, Aims, or Purpose) It shall be the purpose of the Culinary Club to educate and inform students on proper cooking techniques including safety, preparation, and storage through hands-on experience. Members will contribute to the club by offering their own input and recommendations for cooking based on experience and traditional techniques. Our goal is to help students become more comfortable in the kitchen and less reliant upon buying prepared food. Article III (Membership and Eligibility Criteria) Section A: Membership is open to any enrolled UW-Madison student who: 1. Is currently a full time student 2. Has a strong passion for learning how to cook 3. Expresses interest in seeing the club grow from its current state Section B: Dues and collection procedures: The fiscal year of the organization shall be from January 1 to December 31. The amount of annual dues shall be determined each year by the President. Dues shall not exceed $50 per semester. Article IV (Voting) Section A: A quorum will be comprised of the President and Committee Leaders Section B: Each member in good standing will have influence on the voting decision made for the President. Section C: Proxy voting is allowed by the following process: In the case of the absence of the President due to extraordinary circumstances, the Officers will serve as the proxies The Committee Leaders will ultimately have the final say as to who will replace the absent President. Article V (Officers) Section A: The Culinary Club shall have one president and two committee leaders. Section B: All committee leaders must be active members of the Culinary Club. Section C: The term of office shall be from September 1 to December 31 for the fall semester and January 1 to August 31. Section D: Election of Committee Leaders, if applicable, shall be held semi-annually. At least two weeks notice shall be given before the election meeting. Nominations shall be initiated from the floor and elections done by review of member ballots. The person receiving a majority of votes by the President and Leaders will be elected. Section E: Any leader may be removed from membership by the majority vote of the Executive Board. Any officer removed may appeal to the general membership and Board. Said leader shall be considered reinstated with legitimate appeal from the Board. Section F: Any vacancy which may occur in an office shall be filled by appointment by the President pending ratification at the next Executive Board meeting. Article VI (Duties of Leaders Defined) Section A: The President: 1. Shall be chief executive officer. 2. Shall appoint all future Presidents. 3. Direct the budget. 4. Vacancies in offices will be filled by appointment of the President with input from the general membership. 5. Will keep and have available current copies of the constitution and bylaws.

6. Will prepare notes and itinerary for member meetings. 7. Will fully support the functions, strategy, objectives and purpose of the Club. 8. Will encourage member participation. 9. Will investigate problems concerning members. Section B: Food Experience Coordinator 1. Will fully support the functions, strategy, objectives and purpose of the Club. 2. Will be responsible for overseeing the WIN and Facebook webpages. 3. Will be responsible for deciding menus and themes for meetings. 4. Shall be responsible for other activities under the discretion of the President. Section C: Outreach Coordinator 1. Will fully support the functions, strategy, objectives and purpose of the Club. 2. Will be responsible for scheduling volunteer activities. 3. Will encourage member participation. 4. Attend Student Organization Fairs and update Club informational handouts and tri-fold. 5. Shall be responsible for other activities under the discretion of the President. Article VII (Notice of Meetings) Section A: The times for regularly scheduled meetings shall be in two hour blocks from 6-8pm Section B: At least 7 days notice shall be given for each regular business meeting. Section C: Special or emergency meetings may be called with at least 2 days notice by the Executive Board. Section D: The meetings shall include an itinerary of goals and information. Article VIII: (Parliamentary Procedure) Section A: The dictating President say shall be followed by the organization in all cases involving parliamentary procedure even if it conflicts with the constitution. Section B: The rules may be suspended by the President with the committees (Leaders) discretion.
