Work Experience:

• Marblestone Funding, 2000-2002. Started as an assistant to a loan officer at a brokerage, later began
working as a loan officer independently. Left to go back to school. As an assistant, duties included
filing, general office/computer work, answering phones, etc. Also assisted in the processing of loans by
calling and speaking to clients to procure documents and other materials necessary to process loans,
worked with loan mortgage reps and underwriters to complete loan packages, and worked in
conjunction with the in-house loan processors to expedite processing of loans. Helped close
approximately 5-10 loans per month.

• Buttercup Kitchen, 2000-2001. Worked as both a host and waiter.

• E-Loan, 2004. Worked as a loan processor, in the 2nd mortgage department. Contracted through
Adecco. Processed approximately 50-60 loans per month. Volume was extremely high, and emphasis
was placed on working quickly and efficiently. Routinely hit and exceeded processing goals. Heavy
interaction with clients over the phone, and also with the in-house underwriting department. Average
turnaround time from application for a loan to completion was approximately 1-2 weeks, depending on
the client's ability to produce the required documentation.

• Math Tutor, 2002-Present. Worked as a private math tutor while studying at Diablo Valley College and
CSU East Bay. Generally tutored about 3-4 clients per semester - in total, tutored approximately 20-25
paying clients. While at CSUEB have also tutored approximately 5 private clients. Additionally have
tutored numerous friends and classmates free of charge. Subjects have ranged from pre-Algebra
through multivariate/vector Calculus, and also included Statistics, Linear Algebra, Geometry,
Trigonometry, Discrete Math/Combinatorics, Physics and English.

Projects:
• In-Progress:Independent study project, working with basketball data in SAS. Goal of the program is
to automatically grab boxscores on a daily basis from nba.com, analyze them, and then update a central
database. Source code available upon request.

• Fastfood survey and research paper: Completed a research paper and survey on fast food eating
habits. Wrote a 20 page research paper on the lack of healthy choices in fast food and authored a 20
question survey. I received more than 100 respondents to the survey and analyzed the results which I
presented the findings of and discussed in the paper.

Awards:

• Justin Randle Memorial Scholarship, 2008. Application requires 2 letters of recommendation from a
current or previous professor, and is solely voted on and awarded by the professors/staff of the
Statistics Department. Undergraduates are eligible for only 2 scholarships and must compete with
graduate students for them; out of 200+ undergraduate and graduate students I was the only
undergraduate to be awarded a Statistics department scholarship in 2008.
