ABOUT OSAAT

Founded in 2002, OSAAT (One School at a Time) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping rural schools in India in dire need of strong, safe infrastructure. Since its inception in 2002, we have very successfully funded the rebuilding of many schools in various parts of India. Our journey continues one school at a time. A dedicated team of volunteers are involved in every step of the way, from selection to monitoring and completion of projects. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, our administrative costs are absolutely minimal. Partnering with similar charitable organizations in India, we ensure that every dollar we raise is utilized optimally to help the chosen schools.

OUR VISION
Many schools in rural India struggle to stay alive, despite the fact that they may be the only source of affordable education for children in that area. Unfortunately, it is very common to see children attending classes in crumbling, old, unsafe buildings. These kids desperately need our help. OSAATs vision is to provide a safe, strong and healthy school to these kids in rural India.

WHAT WE DO
We help rural schools in India in dire need of infrastructure. We focus primarily on building, improving, maintaining and sustaining infrastructure of schools, selected one at a time - in order to achieve optimum results in terms of scalability, achievability, accountability and measurability. To raise funds, we conduct our annual signature events Naatya-Raaga and Sangeetha Sandhya by Raaga, every year involving local artists of all ages and levels from professionals to teachers to students. We also conduct other events on smaller scale and welcome individual & corporate grants, sponsorships and donations.

ADOPT-A-SCHOOL Program
We invite the children of our community to form a team with their friends, make a pledge to adopt a school in India and raise funds to complete the needs of the school. The team can be formed with friends at school or friends in the dance or music academy you learn from or just a bunch of friends who hang out and spend time. The motivation behind ADOPT-A-SCHOOL program is to encourage and provide for an opportunity for the children here in the Bay area to reach out to their friends in a rural school in India and help them get quality education. Children can take help from their parents to identify the school in India. OSAAT will work with the team to ensure it meets OSAATs selection criteria. For information please email info@osaat.org
