ABSTRACT

This study is focus in teaching instruction and strategies to enhance reading performance and comprehension in International University College of Technology Twintech. The research is to identify the measure to improve quality instruction that is differentiated and specific to students needs. Alternating time periods for special student activities is to involve managing multiple events happening in the classroom simultaneously and creating a student learning environment. Quality instruction and practice occur in various institutions to enhance instructional effectiveness and increase students achievement. Classroom management is orderly and efficient. Classroom furniture is arranged to include work areas. One area is for group discussion led by the lecturers to provide a quality instruction to the students. The lecturer does simply communicate a performance expectation to the students. Another is by using data to inform practice this step involves using data to provide the initially strong evidence assessment data, work samples, student observations and identify specific instructional strength and areas for improvement. However, improving instruction comes after managing the classroom and student behaviors. Once classroom routines are operating efficiently, lecturers can focus and teach differently using group lessons and assignment some basic procedure to evaluate the students performances. Providing high quality instruction and practice improving the quality and quantity of instruction provided in whole class or small group instruction is the purpose of differentiating instruction. However, improving instruction comes after managing the classroom and student behaviors and operating efficiently.

It has been an extremely long process to complete my thesis. I spent almost half year on and off on this thesis. When it comes to the end, the precious bitters and sufferings suddenly trade for the fruitful achievement. I never think I am able to finish this arduous task until now. It is the power from my family, friends, classmates and supervisor to help me get through all of this. First and foremost, I want to thanks to all individuals that helped me with their support, suggestion s, ideas and guidelines when doing this research. My highest gratitude to my supervisor, Madam NURLIZA HASLIN BT MUSLIM, thanks for her invaluable assistance, comments and advice throughout the process of completing this thesis. Special thanks to my other lecturers for this research, for contributing some brilliant ideas and advice in my topic. I would like to thanks for my friends and classmates who share with me the tips for the thesis and their great psychological support. My family plays an important role for me. They have supported me along the way in terms of financial, positive advice and moral values. It has been a great experience and memories to have a chance studying in IUCTT and have the opportunity to know so many friends. Lastly to my entire respondents those are involved in giving me the important information such as all the students that have been filled up the questionnaire and all the students in IUCTT who are main respondents of this study, thanks you for kindly giving me the support during the survey process.
