Gospel Values for Term Four: Trust and Hope

Prayer of the Fortnight

Father, Allow me to serve others with a joyful heart; Never keeping score; Always giving; Never expecting to receive. Allow me to give of myself, To give of my talents and of my goods, To give of my time and of my energy, To give of my heart and of my soul. elp me understand the needs of others, Never critici!ing, Never demeaning, Never scolding, Never condemning. "ou have #een so gracious to me, Always $oving, Always forgiving, Always restoring; Never gloating over my defeats, %ven when & have #een so wrong. Father, keep a condemning spirit Far from my heart and further from my lips. Allow me to serve others as "ou serve, 'ith gentleness, compassion, and tenderness, Never diminishing the worth of another, (hoosing to extend mercy to the #rokenhearted, $ike "ou have repeatedly shown it to me.

The term is really flying along and we are only a couple of weeks out from the school athletics and from the school fair. There are plenty of things for you to get involved in if you want to help out. 'e are always looking for helpers at various fundraising events, so feel free to volunteer your time and energy for one of these. This weekend, for example, the Friends6st7pats are catering for the local production in the /t 5atricks hall and they are still short of helpers. They need kitchen hands on /aturday and /unday. &f you can spare the time, let 5enny (adogan or Toni 3udemans know. All funds raised go towards school camp. This will reduce the cost of the camp significantly as this is a very lucrative fundraiser. 0any thanks to 5enny and Toni for all the organising and many thanks in advance to all those helpers that contri#ute their time. 3ne of the wonderful things a#out #eing part of a small school is that people generally understand that there is only so much that each person can do and that everyone needs to contri#ute in some way or another at some time or another. 3ften, there is a core group of folk who always

ello to everyone in our school community. This is just a #rief statement to clear up any possi#le confusion that may exist regarding the 5rincipals position at /t 5atrickAs /chool. 0r Demp has #een appointed for the *+); school year #y the 4oard of Trustees however, we will #e advertising the position again next year. This is in no way in relation on how the school is #eing run or a reflection of 0r DempAs competency. 'e are a (atholic /chool seeking a permanent 5rincipal. To appoint a permanent 5rincipal the successful applicant needs to #e an active practising (atholic, as well as meeting our re8uirements for what we desire in our 5rincipal. As such we cannot appoint 0r Demp into anything more than an Acting 5rincipals role. &t is unfortunate #ut it is also the way things are. & have #een fortunate to have worked closely with 0r Demp since my election to 4oard (hair in *+)). &n that time & have seen how much work he puts into the school, most of which is unrecognised, #ut also & have had the #enefit of speaking with professionals from outside agencies who have told me, repeatedly, how lucky we are to have Iarcy and what a great jo# he does. /o next year when the 5rincipals position is advertised, please remem#er that we are not advertising out of dissatisfaction with 0r Demp. The Beatitudes Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are the meek; for they shall possess the land. Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice; for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart; for they shall see God.
