OVEREXPOSURES MAY CAUSE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM DEPRESSION AND TARGET ORGAN EFFECTS. MAY CAUSE DIZZINESS AND DROWSINESS. SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS MAY BE REQUIRED BY RESCUE WORKERS. AMERICAN AGIP CO. INC. HEAVY NAPHTHA POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS: (Signs & Symptoms of Exposure) INHALATION (Breathing): Toxic and harmful if inhaled. May cause irritation to the nose, throat and respiratory tract. Breathing of high vapor concentrations may cause central nervous system depression, evidenced by dizziness, light-headedness, headache, nausea, drowsiness and loss of coordination. Continued inhalation may result in unconsciousness. (Refer also to Sec. 8 & 11 for more information). EYE CONTACT: May be irritating to the eyes causing a burning sensation, redness, swelling and/or blurred vision. SKIN CONTACT: May be irritating to the skin causing a burning sensation, redness and/or swelling. Prolonged or repeated skin contact can cause defatting and drying of the skin that may result in a burning sensation and a dried, cracked appearance. Remove contaminated clothing. INGESTION (Swallowing): This material may be harmful if swallowed. Ingestion may result in vomiting; aspiration (breathing) of vomitus into lungs must be avoided as even small quantities may result in aspiration pneumonitis. CHRONIC EXPOSURE: Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling Heavy Naphtha can be harmful or fatal. Altered mental state, drowsiness, peripheral motor neuropathy, irreversible brain damage, delirium, seizures and sudden death are associated with repeated abuse. Prolonged and repeated exposure of pregnant animals to high levels of toluene (greater than 1500 ppm) have been reported to cause fetal developmental effects. MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGREVATED BY EXPOSURE: Persons with pre-existing medical conditions such as disorders of the skin, respiratory system, liver, kidneys, central nervous system, cardiovascular and blood systems my be more susceptible to the toxic effects. SECTION 4. FIRST AID MEASURES: INHALATION (Breathing): Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration If breathing is difficult, give 100 percent humidified oxygen. Get medical attention immediately. . EYE CONTACT: Remove contact lenses if worn. Immediately flush eyes with cool water and continue washing for at least fifteen minutes, keeping eyelids open. Seek medical attention. SKIN CONTACT: remove contaminated shoes and clothing. Flush affected area with large amounts of water. If skin surface is damaged, apply a clean dressing and seek medical attention. Do not use ointments. If skin surface is not damaged, clean affected area thoroughly with mild soap and water. Seek medical attention if tissue appears damaged or if pain or irritation persists. INGESTION (Swallowing): Do not induce vomiting. If spontaneous vomiting is about to occur, place victims head below knees. If victim is drowsy or unconscious, place on the left side with head down. Never give anything by mouth to a person who is not fully conscious. Do not leave victim unattended. Seek medical attention immediately.

FIRE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Dry chemical, foam, and carbon dioxide. Water fog or water spray are of value for cooling, but may not achieve extinguishment. SPECIAL INFORMATION: This product has been determined to be a combustible liquid per the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard and should be handled accordingly. For additional fire related information, see NFPA 30 or North American Emergency Guide 128. SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES: Take proper precautions to ensue your own health and safety before attempting spill control or cleanup. Evacuate all non-essential personnel from immediate area and establish a regulated zone with site control and security. In natural environments, seek advice from ecologists. Use proper protective equipment. Eliminate all ignition sources. All equipment used when handling this material must be grounded. Stop the leak if it can be done without risk. Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Remove spillage immediately from hard, smooth walking areas. Prevent spilled material from entering waterways, sewers, basements, or confined areas. Absorb or cover with dry earth, sand, or other non-combustible material and transfer to appropriate waste containers. Notify the National Response Center (800-424-8802) and comply with all laws. SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE: Store and transport in accordance with all applicable laws. Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flame. Keep containers closed. Ground all drums and transfer vessels when handling. All electrical equipment in heavy naphtha storage and/or handling areas should be installed in accordance with applicable requirements of the National Electrical Code, N.F.P.A. Keep out of reach of children. SECTION 8. EXPOSURE CONTROL / PERSONAL PROTECTION: EXPOSURE LIMITS: Refer to Section #2 ENGINEERING CONTROLS: VENTILATION: Provide ventilation or other engineering controls to keep the airborne concentrations of vapor or mists below the applicable workplace exposure limits. All electrical equipment should comply with the National Electric Code. An emergency eye wash station and safety shower should be located near the workstation. PAGE 4 OF 8

A hazard assessment of the work area for PPE requirements should be conducted by a qualified professional pursuant to OSHA regulations. EYES: Safety glasses equipped with side shields are recommended as minimum protection in industrial settings. Chemical goggles should be worn during transfer operations or when there is likelihood of misting, splashing, or spraying of this material. A suitable emergency eye wash and safety shower should be located near the workstation. SKIN: Avoid skin contact. Use gloves. Wash hands with plenty of mild soap and water before eating, drinking, smoking, use of toilet facilities or leaving work. Do not use this material as a skin cleaner. RESIRATORY: For known vapor concentrations above the occupational exposure guidelines use a NIOSH-approved organic vapor respirator if adequate protection is provided. Protection factors vary depending upon the type of respirator used. Respirators should be used in accordance with OSHA requirements.
