iView: Create Measurement Documents

Technical Data Technical Name of the iView Runtime Technology Data Source or Data Store com.sap.pct.erp.eam.gen.eam_measurement_document_create ABAP/Web Dynpro See: Business Package

You can use this iView to create measurement documents. You enter the reference object and the reference object type or the measuring point/counter. The system checks whether the reference object and measuring point/counter match up. If the measurement document refers to a technical object that is a linear asset, this data is displayed in the measurement document. You can save the measurement documents to your list of favorites.

Note
This iView is a Web Dynpro ABAP application, based on the Object Instance Floorplan (OIF). The individual UI blocks in the floorplan (Web Dynpro pattern) are converted by generic user interface building blocks (GUIBBs) that you can configure by using the configuration editor of the Floorplan Manager. For more information, see Floorplan Manager for Web Dynpro ABAP .

If you create measurement documents starting from a technical object, the system copies all measuring points/counters of the technical object under Measurement Readings . If you create measurement documents starting from a measuring point/counter, the system copies this measuring point/counter under Measurement Readings . The system only creates measurement documents for measuring points/counters for which you enter measurement readings. If you select a measurement reading line and choose the Copy Values for Selected Rows pushbutton, you see a dialog box. Here, you can overwrite the proposed values for measurement date, measurement time, and counter reader, if required, and then confirm. When you confirm the data, it is copied to the selected measurement reading line. Any changes made to the affected column fields are overwritten. If a field was deleted previously, it remains blank. If you select a measurement reading line and choose the Reset Values pushbutton, the values in this line are deleted. By choosing the Close pushbutton, you cancel processing. If unsaved data is about to be lost because of this, the system issues a warning. If you choose the Check Entries pushbutton, the system checks whether the data is consistent. If you choose Save, this saves the measurement documents and updates them in the back-end system.

Integration
You can call this iView via the service Change Measurement Documents . It is also called if you are displaying or changing a measuring point, or displaying a measurement document, and want to create measurement documents from there.

iView Functions

Asset Viewer
The Asset Viewer is a display tool that enables simple navigation through complex object relations on an integrated user interface. You can navigate flexibly within and between objects. For certain object types, you can also see and navigate the hierarchical structure of the object, for example, technical objects. In this way, the Asset Viewer provides you with additional support as you carry out your work.

Prerequisites
You have made all the necessary configuration settings in Customizing. For more information, see iView: Asset Viewer .

Features Access
You can choose to display an object in the Asset Viewer at any point during your work. The following table indicates where and how you can do so: Applications from which Asset Viewer Can Be Accessed My Objects POWLs on the Work Overview page Web Dynpro applications for displaying, changing and/or creating individual object types Asset Viewer How to Access You can display an object in the Asset Viewer from the My Favorites , Last Accessed, or Recently Changed lists by selecting an object in a list and choosing the corresponding option from the options menu. You can display the object in question in the Asset Viewer by choosing You can also and then the corresponding option.

If you are already viewing an object in the Asset Viewer, you can display a related object in a second Asset Viewer session. You can do this as follows: 01. Display the related object in the object navigator by choosing it from either the structure view or the appropriate object relation view. 02. Display the object by choosing the corresponding function from the <Object Type> Options context menu.

Example
In the structure view of a technical object, you navigate to a subordinate material. The material is displayed in the object navigator as a result. You can now choose to display the material in a second Asset Viewer session by choosing the corresponding function from the Materials Options context menu.

Structure
When you display an object in the Asset Viewer, information is displayed in different areas. The following figure illustrates the standard layout of the Asset Viewer.

Asset Viewer Structure Object identification region This area displays the ID, short description, and, depending on the object type, further identifying attributes for the object. While you navigate between objects in the Asset Viewer, a breadcrumb trail is also displayed in this region. The breadcrumb trail contains object links for every object that you have viewed in the Asset Viewer in the order in which you viewed them. You can use the breadcrumb trail to track your navigation path and also to reselect objects for display in the Asset Viewer. Object navigator This area displays basic information about the object (called the central object) on the General Data view, as well as its relations to other objects (called object relations) on further views. The following table shows the object types that can be displayed in the object navigator with the standard delivery. For object types with complex object relations, pre-configured view layouts are also available.

Pushbutton <Object> Options Refresh

Function This pushbutton provides you with additional options for navigating to other Web Dynpro applications and backend transactions. These options are the same as those available for the object type through its context menu. For more information, see Context Menus in the Asset Viewer . This pushbutton refreshes the object lists in the object navigator, for example to reflect changes you make in the Navigator Settings . If you are viewing content in the side panel and then navigate to a new object in the object navigator, you must also refresh to update the content. This pushbutton allows you to set the current central object as the root node in the structure view. This pushbutton opens the Navigator Settings window in which you can enter values for particular attributes (such as validity date) of the central object for each view and object type. For example, when viewing a technical object in the Asset Viewer, you only want to see maintenance orders and notifications created for that technical object within the last month. For more information, see Settings for the Object Navigator . This pushbutton provides you with the following additional functions: Adjust the view layout for the central object For example, you can change the order of object relation views, and show or hide certain views. Note that this function is only available for object types with multiple views. Add the central object to your list of favorites. Note that this function is available only for object types supported by the favorites list (see Work Overview).

Navigation Behavior
When you choose to display an object in the Asset Viewer, then either the structure view and the object navigator appear or just the object navigator appears. The following table explains what happens when you navigate from and between various objects using the Asset Viewer: Asset Viewer Display The selected object is displayed in both the object navigator and the structure view. It is the root node of the structure and appears highlighted. Navigation Behavior If you select a lower-level object in the structure view, it appears highlighted in the structure and becomes the central object in the object navigator. You can now also set the new central object as the root node in the structure view by choosing Synchronize. If you select a new object from within the object navigator and the new object does not have a structure view (for example, you are viewing a technical object and you choose a related document), then the structure view does not change and no object appears highlighted. If you select a new object from within the object navigator and the new object does have a structure view, then the following happens: If the new object is part of the same structure, then the structure view does not change but the new object appears highlighted. If the new object is not part of the same structure, the structure view does not change but no object appears highlighted. If you want to see the new object in the structure view, you must choose Synchronize. If you select a new object from within the object navigator and the new object has a structure view (for example, you are viewing a document and you choose a related technical object), then the structure view of the new object appears and its details are shown in the object navigator.

The selected object is displayed in the object navigator only. There is no structure view.

Context Menus in the Asset Viewer

By right-clicking an object link anywhere in the Asset Viewer, you access the context menu for the object type in question. Context menus provide you with object-specific options for navigating to other Web Dynpro applications and backend transactions. The context menu for technical objects provides additional functions when you access it through the structure view.

Prerequisites
You have made all the necessary configuration settings in Customizing. For more information, see iView: Asset Viewer . Note that the context menu functions described below are pre-configured in the standard delivery.

Features
When you right-click an object link in the Asset Viewer, for example, in an object relation view, the context menu for the object type in question appears with the following standard navigation options: Display <Object Type> in Asset Viewer This function opens the object in a second Asset Viewer session. By opening several Asset Viewer sessions simultaneously, you can display and navigate different objects independently of each other. Display <Object Type> (<Backend Transaction>) This function displays the object in the corresponding backend transaction. Display <Object Type> This function displays the object in the corresponding Web Dynpro application, if one is available.

Note
These navigation options are available for the central object when you choose the <Object> Order pushbutton in the contextual navigation region.

The following functions for technical objects are available through the context menu when you access it in the structure view: Dismantle This function allows you to remove a technical object from a superordinate technical object. Install This function allows you to install a technical object in a superordinate technical object. Change Installation Location This function allows you to remove a technical object from its current installation location and install it in another technical object. Go to Superior Object This function allows you to navigate to the superior technical object or material of the object currently selected in the structure view. Note that this function is only available if the object is the root node.

Business Context Viewer Integration

By integrating the Business Context Viewer (BCV) , you can make additional analytical and contextual information about a business object available to users in the side panel of the related application. You can use the sample business content provided for Plant Maintenance (PM) with the Business Package for Generic EAM Functions 1.50 both to explore the features of BCV and as a template for creating your own content.

PUBLIC 2012 SAP AG. All rights reserved.

Prerequisites
You have activated business function FND, Business Context Viewer Main Application ( /BCV/MAIN ). BCV is licensed as part of the SAP Collaborative Product Development license. You need this license in order to use BCV content with this business package. To configure BCV content and then access content in the side panel in run time, the following worksets must be assigned to your user role: EAM BCV Administrator ( com.sap.pct.bs_fnd.BCV_BCV ) EAM BCV User ( com.sap.pct.bs_fnd.BCV_BCV_0 ) For more information about the portal content in these worksets, see Portal Content for SAP Business Suite Foundation.

Activities
You test the delivered business content by activating the corresponding Business Configuration (BC) set. You can subsequently use this content as the template for creating your own content.

More Information
For more information about the sample business content provided for Plant Maintenance (PM), as well as how to activate and adapt it, see Business Context Viewer Integration in Business Package for Maintenance Worker 1.50.

Processing of Notifications
You can create, change, and display notifications. You have the following options for creating notifications: Create notification with reference to an existing maintenance order You create a notification with reference to a maintenance order if you want to enter information that has arisen when processing a job, and this information affects the job. In this case, there is already a maintenance order but no maintenance notification. Create notification without reference to a maintenance order You create a notification without reference to a maintenance order if you want to enter information that arose when performing a job, but which has nothing to do with the job.

Integration
When creating notifications, you can use the input help to search for technical objects. For more information, see Defining Input Help for Technical Objects .

Features General
By choosing the Close pushbutton, you cancel processing. If unsaved data is about to be lost because of this, the system issues a warning. When you save the notification that you have just created, the notification is created in the back-end system with the status Outstanding notification. With the Set System Status pushbutton, you can change the status of the notification first. The following statuses are possible: After creating the notification Put In Process , Close or Postpone After releasing the notification Close After closing the notification In Process Again After putting the notification in process again Close With the Status Information pushbutton, you can check which statuses the notification has had up to now. If you choose the Check Entries pushbutton, the system checks whether the data is consistent. If you are in change mode, you can choose the Read Only pushbutton to go to display mode. If you are in display mode, you can choose the Edit pushbutton to go to change mode. You can save the notification to your list of favorites.

General Data
On the General Data tab, you can enter notification header data, including a long text. Long text formatting behaves as defined in Customizing of the back-end system under Plant Maintenance and Customer Service Maintenance and Service Processing Maintenance and Service Notifications Overview of Notification Type Format Long Text . You can enter a technical object that the notification references. If the technical object is a linear asset, this data is displayed at header level. If the notification is assigned to a task list, you can navigate to it. With the Assign Existing Order pushbutton, you can assign an order to the notification. If the notification is already assigned to an order, you can navigate to it or delete the assignment.

Location Data
On the Location Data tab, you enter data of the technical object and address data. The data of the technical object is displayed when a technical object is entered on the General Data tab.

PUBLIC 2012 SAP AG. All rights reserved.

Organizational Data
On the Organizational Data tab, you enter data for account assignment and partner.

Malfunction Data
On the Malfunction Data tab, you enter, for example, the start and finish of the malfunction and any number of items and causes. If you choose the Add Several Items with Damage Codes or Add Several Causes with Codes pushbutton , you see a dialog where you can select one or more codes and copy them to the relevant columns. You can delete any codes that are not needed by choosing the Remove pushbutton.

Task Data
A notification with reference to a maintenance order contains the Task Data tab. Here, you can enter tasks by choosing the Add Several Tasks with Codes pushbutton and set the status for one or more tasks by choosing the Set System Status for Task pushbutton. With the Remove Task pushbutton, you can delete tasks again.

Note
A notification without reference to a maintenance order contains no tasks, because you are entering information that arose during the processing of a job, but which does not affect the job and the work performed.

Documents
On the Documents tab, you record the documents that are related to the notification.
