to be done the third layer also known as network layer is the one that operates the WAN protocol. The network layer usually does the tasks and also does end to end addressing and routing any datagrams. There is a device that allows to act like a router and a bridge which is called brouter which incorporates some of the layers. Normal routers and switches usually operate on a two to four layers which are data link layer, network layer and transport layer. On the OSI layer, the layer two or network layer usually is the place where the routing and addressing is usually implemented. On the OSI layer, the transport layer is where it controls the flow and handles the mistake handling. The fourth layer of the OSI layer typically does a lot of things done at the same time and also does complete any assemblies.

The network is made up a lot of different various layers and it does have a specific unique function on the network to help accomplish the tasks. Also, every layer combines every data which can be sent to the next layer after another. That protocols that are usually used on the OSI layers are High Level Data Link control and Point to Point protocol. The protocol that works at that data links the layer of the OSI model is the frame relay protocol.
