day in style!! Scouts in other areas also had the opportunity to help celebrate and add to the centennial birthday of Scouts and Scouting alike. Scouts who did not come to the Jamboree had their own celebration at various cities across the country, including notably at Times Square, N.Y.. They were linked with the Scouts at the Jamboree site using video links. These local events were called Shining Lights Across America.

Jamboree is a very unique experience that strengthens the core values of Scouting and rules a Scout must abide by. A Scout is always trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. I plan to attend the 2013 Jamboree at West Virginias Bechtel Summit. The property provides many more outdoor activities including whitewater rafting, rock-climbing, cliff rappelling and other high-adventure features. I am proud to be a Scout and hope every boy gets to experience the wonders of Scouting.
