Language learning potential and language levels are important in selecting stories for children. How do they become significant in the story telling activity? In this modern days, children had evolved their capacity of learning language due to various styles and process that they had been through since early age. For example, story telling. Story telling give a lot of benefits to children such as instilling morale values, helping to develope their language and even arouse their enthusiasm in learning process. This situation had developed the children's language learning potential to a whole new level. The development of their language learning potential were taken one step higher due to the teachers' teaching and learning techniques. Nowadays, teacher had been exposed with various skills and techniques to make the teaching and learning process becomes more effective. Thus, enhancing the development of children's language learning potential. This will make the children more capable of learning new language and become a faster learner. Apart from that, children should be develope their language learning potential starting from their home. Parents play an important role in the development of their children in all aspects such as language, morale value, attitude and even the way to dress properly. Spending time together with the children, telling various stories to them from time to time can instill all the previously mentioned aspects. From the way we talk, how we deliver the stories, each and every bits of little things, our children will observe and tend to copy what we do. So, doing a story telling session with them, can help the children to remember more as they see the action made, hear the words, and read the story at the same time. This will give them further understanding of the stories. We dive into the story along with the children. When we manage to instill all those good values and moralities, children then will having a great time learning with ease. Children with

good attitude usually have a better language learning potential. This is due to parents exposal of good materials and examples given to their children since early age. Furthermore, as a teacher, a crucial information is taken into account which is the children's language levels. Language levels are important in selecting stories for children. In school, to know the language levels of the pupils are important. This is for the preparation of the lesson that will be carried out later in the class. When we select a story, the story must have the language level that is on par with the pupils so that they will not have a hard time understanding high level vocabulary in the story. In addition, before deciding on a story, we must consider all the pupils' language levels in our class. Different pupil have different level of language. So, a story with a moderate language level is suitable for the upper class, which has several new vocabularies for them to ponder after the story telling session. For the less moderate class, a simple and short story is enough for them to enhance their vocabularies and language. This is not to put heavy learning load on them. A small steps in learning later can become a steping stone for the pupils to achieve greater things. In conclusion, Language learning potential in children and the language levels of the children are inter-related with each other especially in story telling activity. We have to consider all aspects in both matters in selecting stories for children before the story telling is delivered. A great and effective lesson can be well planned if the teacher knows their pupils' language learning potential and language levels.
