Ref: Proposed Kits Beach Cycle Lanes Dear Howard: As per our meeting and recent communications between us regarding the proposed Kitsilano Beach bicycle lanes: I am pleased to support your organizations proposed alternative cycling route for Kits Beach park via an adjacent, existing Avenue / converted sidewalk reasonably close to The Kits Beach park (and not through paved, green space as is currently proposed by civic officials) for three main reasons: Preservation of existing green space, safety, and economics As an avid cyclist myself for the past 30 years, previously an elite-level competitive cyclist and now more of a recreational one, I can gladly confirm that the large majority of Vancouver cyclists would prefer a properly painted / designated cycle route on an existing nearby road (as opposed to a new bike route through Kits Beach park green areas). Should there be further concerns do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely,
Richard Wooles Executive Director
