TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS ANALYST TECHNOLOGY L.E. Scarr Resource Center


POSITION DESCRIPTION: 8.0 hours per day /12 month position Shift subject to change a.m. start SUMMARY:
Responds to, diagnosis, and resolves second level technology support issues involving hardware and software for district workstation technology including but not limited to computers, monitors, laptops, printers, document cameras, projectors, etc. Investigates and troubleshoots issues with Windows operating systems and software including Microsoft Office suite and other education based titles. Assist with imaging, testing, updates, and packaging software for remote installation. Performs modular replacement of defective technology devices, orders parts, and processes vendor RMA repairs. May drive district vehicle or personal vehicle (with mileage reimbursement) to transport devices between repair centers and district sites. Contacts vendors or engages district staff for timely support. Maintains records on issues, documents solutions, and creates check lists. Occasionally joins field teams to assist with project tasks.

Annual Salary: $ 54,095.00/year

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Diagnose and resolve escalated hardware and software issues that require research, vendor contact, or modular hardware repair. Answer voice and communication from peers and customers and provide answers and solutions to district employees, students, and parents. Perform record keeping and clerical tasks to maintain support tickets and issue documentation. Document, update, and review electronic records and procedure documents to be stored in central archive for other tech support staff to access as needed. Travel between district sites using district vehicle or personal vehicle (with mileage reimbursement) to respond to technical support issues and transport technology devices. Maintain knowledge of industry hardware and software trends and update skills accordingly. Help test and deploy district computer images. Help package and deploy software for network deployment. May contact vendors or RMA broken equipment. May move large equipment carts or equipment. May help deploy technology to schools or warehouse. Attend district/regional training sessions and assist in training and development as assigned in order to provide crosstraining within the TIS team. Model appropriate behavior for staff and students. Follow LWSD policies, procedures, and protocols. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:


Excellent troubleshooting ability and methodology. Expert knowledge of technology operation including but not limited to workstation computers, monitors, laptops, printers, document cameras, projectors, electronic whiteboards, cameras, peripherals etc.

Advanced understanding of software including operating systems (Windows), drivers, and common software Internet Explorer, MS Office Suite and Adobe products. Ability to learn multiple education software titles including but not limited to Activstudio, Type-To-Learn, Renaissance Learning, enVision Math, etc. Demonstrate skill with solid customer service. Ability to understand work standards to levels of service. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and community with a diverse population. Ability to expand knowledge of technology and information systems. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to follow prescribed guidelines for equipment use and operation. Ability to work both independently and in groups. Ability to speak and write fluent English. Ability to read and follow instructions to solve practical problems. Ability to use personal vehicle during work day to transport small equipment items with mileage reimbursement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


High school diploma or equivalent required. Technology degree recommended. Must possess Comptia A+ certification Must possess valid Washington State drivers license. Must pass criminal background check.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This job is performed in a temperature controlled office environment. May travel between multiple buildings if deploying or installing systems. The usual and customary methods of performing the functions of this job require the following physical demands: Frequent keyboarding and mousing throughout shift. Occasionally sit, twist, and lift, occasionally carry up to 40 pounds, occasionally climb a ladder and/or reach above shoulder level. Generally the job requires 40% sitting, 15-25% walking, and 35-45% standing.
