LUMS Sports Fest 14

For every sport (males and females), there will be two categories: under 19 and 19-27 years. Students enrolled in schools till A-Levels must register for U-19 category, while university team players should enroll in 19-27 categories. Private individuals should follow the same criteria. According to Higher Education Commission rules, we will not be admitting any person over the age of 27. Cricket [Male] "Pakistan's favorite pastime is brought to life at the LUMS Sports Fest. If your team has what it takes to bowl fast and hit long, this adrenaline pumping sport is made for you. Come prepared for a lot of hard hitting action!"

- Each team to comprise of 8 players (no substitutes) - 6 Overs per inning - Matches to be played with tape ball

Futsal [Male and Female] If you are a die-hard football fan and are looking for an opportunity to show your love for the game and spirit on the field, SPORTS FEST '14 brings to you Futsal for just that. If you think you have the creativity and the technique to improvise your game in small spaces, come take part in one of the most happening sport and event of the year!

Basketball [Male and Female] Want to be a part of the biggest inter-Varsity basketball tournament of the country? Here's your chance. Battle it out on the LUMS basketball court against teams from all around Pakistan to be crowned the kings of the court this December at LSF'14 and have an experience of a lifetime!

- For females, each team to comprise of minimum 5 players including the goal keeper and maximum 8 (5 starting + 3 substitutes) - For males, each team to comprise of minimum 5 players including the goal keeper and maximum 10 (5 starting + 5 Substitutes) - Cleats/trainers and shin pads should be worn - Matches will be played on LUMS Football field - Matches to be played at the LUMS - Each team to comprise of minimum football field 5 and maximum 12 players(5 starting + 7 substitutes) - Players are required to wear proper non-marking shoes

Netball [Female] Catch. Pivot. Pass. Step. Shoot. Its all about the coordination, passing the ball down the court and taking shots at the goal ring. If you think youve got the teamwork, the agility and the shooting skills, then come and show it off in one of the fastest growing women sports in the world!

- Each team to comprise of 10 players (7 stating + 3 substitutes) - Matches to be played at the outdoor football and hockey fields at LUMS

Volleyball [Male and Female] Three days of the marvelous spikes, the perfect digs and the best set, all-in-all, the fiesta of excitement and cut throat competition for the talent and zeal on the battlefields of volleyball. Firing battle with different teams but with the same goal, victory! Experience volley like never before in LUMS Sports fest, this December; an experience worth playing for!

- Each team to comprise of 10 players (6 playing + 4 substitutes) - All the matches will be played in the LUMS Outdoor Volleyball court - Each match will be of Best of three sets. Final will be Best of Five sets. -

Table tennis [Male and Female] G for glory and G for gold. If you desire both then get ready to participate in the LUMS Sports Fest 2014 Table tennis: a game that will test every ounce of your reflexes and skill with the racquet.

- Singles tournament - Players are required to wear proper non-marking shoes - Matches to be played inside the LUMS Sports Complex

Badminton [Male and Female] Think you have what it takes to play the fastest racquet sport at LSF? Want to prove that you can smash it? Then prove your mettle against the best of the best this year at LSF! That trophy could be yours if you place that shuttle right! What are you still waiting for? Register for badminton at LSF NOW! You know you want to.

- Singles tournament(Over and under 18 are different categories) - Players are required to wear proper non-marking shoes - Matches will be held inside the LUMS Sports Complex - Group stages and quarters will be played with Pakistani shuttles

Tennis [Male and Female] This is the time that you show everyone that you can play with the guile of Federer, the aggression of Nadal and the power of Djokovic. The title of the Sports Fest tennis champion awaits you.

- Singles tournament - Matches to be played under floodlights

Squash [Male] You can be sure that this brutal sport will test you to the boundaries of your perseverance. Only with the best combination of pace, power and accuracy will players be able to make a statement on the court. So if you feel you have the blood of a champion, come and prove your worth on a national level at the LUMS Sports Fest14!

- Singles tournament - Players need to bring their rackets along and be in proper kits which include non-marking shoes

Accommodation (Male and Female): For participants coming from outside Lahore, accommodation will be provided on the LUMS campus. An additional fee of Rs. 2000/- will be charged for four nights i.e. 23rd December 2013 to 26th December 2013. To get more details, log on to http://lumssportsfest.net/sfest/. Social Events (ticket cost covered in the Registration Fee): The Social Events at this edition of the Sports Fest will bring to you a wide assortment of exciting events. Day 1: Open Mic Night at the Players' Lounge: The talent of the participants is not restricted to the field and the court. They can show off their musical talent at the Open Mic Night. Participants can come, listen to their favorite music and socialize. Day2: Carnival. Theme: Fusion of the provinces. Participants will represent their provinces and come together to enjoy the rich culture of each province. Participants should look forward to a surprise event at the carnival. Day 3: Concert: It will be a night you will not forget. One of Pakistan's famous bands will be performing for the participants. The players can relax and enjoy the music after a day of intense sporting activities. Day4: Closing Ceremony: Theme: To be decided Prize Distribution and Formal dinner for the participants. Get your dresses out because its going to be a glamorous night!

Registrations

NOTE: Private teams are also allowed to register. Preference will be given to educational institutions. There is no limit on the number of teams registered by institutions for any sport but approval of all teams will be subjected to the Registration Directors discretion and availability of slots. Registration date is tentative and might change according to the discretion of the Registration Directors. Registrations will be carried out on a first come first serve basis if slots are filled up before the deadline. The final decision of short listing teams will be made by the Registrations team and CANNOT be challenged whatsoever Payment Details Once an institution or private teams registration is confirmed through email and subsequently reflected in the registration status on the online portal, the total payable amount can be checked by logging into the portal. The institution/private team must pay the requisite amount within the given registration deadline, otherwise its place at LUMS Sports Fest14 will be cancelled. The total payable amount will be decided according to the following charging criterion:

Payment procedure will be communicated online to all registered participants (keep checking the online portal for updates). Registration fee per participant for one event: Rs. 2000. Registration fee per participant for two events: Rs. 2400. Registration fee per participant for three events: Rs. 2600. Pre-booked souvenirs: Prices will be communicated later Accommodation fee for 4 nights: Rs. 2000.
