Our Dear Friends in Ohrist:

We received your letter of April 18th, today; and were sxirprised to hear that you didn't receive the set of slides as yet.

I had sent a set of slides, together with a commentary, to the Garrett, Indiana church last January. As soon as the "Mission Round-Up" was over, they were instructed to send them to Coleman,
who, in turn, was to have several sets made from them, and send a set of them to you.

Illness may have prevented Colemsin's doing this, as, I xmderstand he was hospitalized recently for an operation. I shall write him immediately, however, on this matter; as I assumed that the sets were ready for the churches "by this time. Please forgive me for any embarrassment this may have caused you! It was natural for me to assume that 3 months would be enough time for them to be in your hands. It took them only 5 days to reach Garrett, Indiana from Frankfurt Germany, via Air-Mail.
We, too, like the missionary-packet idea, and, as soon as we get settled in our new location, we will prepare the material for it. We had been deliberately holding up on this matter, because

we didn't know how much expense would be involved in moving#

Enclosed is the very latest copy of our News-Bulletin. We want you to feel free to publish anything of interest that you find in i t , in the HORIZONS. Since we are mailing them out via regular mail at the end of this week, the news items that you would print

will still reach the people ^ead of the letters. (It takes from 5
to 4 weeks via regular mail.)
I'm sorry that we didn't have an opportunity to tell you

earlier; but Mary and I really appreciated the splendid peice of work which you did in publishing the last edition of "die Hoffnung".

We especially liked the idea of the seasonal "green" ink, and the Christmas Greetings which you added. We had completely overlooked

Just a personal note of thanks for having printed our paper "die Hoffnung", and getting it mailed last month. We know that you

property that would house both the Mission and our family. We are now meeting on the fourth floor of a crowded apartment building, in our living room. With such limited space, and only teo chairs to go around, i t is often necessary for the children in Bible School

to either sit on the floor or stand against the wall, 'during the lessons. The initial cost for renting or leasing a building is returnable either in part or in whole, depending upon amount of monthly rent paid, at the termination of the lease.

HAVE JOINED HANDS TO LABOR TOGETHER IN THIS RADIO VENTURE!

The West German Christian Mission and the

Gospel Broadcasting Mission are cooperating

in making it possible for us to bring the Gospel of Christ to the people of Germany! Contribu tions have made the purchase of a tape recorder possible and we are ready to begin production immediately. Since we are only one missionary family, and there are millions of lost souls around us,

we feel that this means of reaching them with the Gospel is most imperative! However, we need pledges for this project, and are asking your prayers that this broadcast will soon become a reality. We pause, to pay tribute to Gail Bucholtz, a former member of the Palnesvllle, Ohio Church of Christ, andalsoa former memberofthe United States Army, serving in Frankfurt, Germany.

While stationed here, Gail became a personal friend of the Fausz family, up until the time
that he was killed In an outomoblle accident

A Memorial Fund, in his honor, was begun In the Painesville church, and sent to help us In our work in Germany. The fund was the amount needed to close the gap for purchasing a muchneeded tape recorder for the Mission. Thus, the Gail Bucholtz Memorial Fund becomes a perpetual instrumentation for con

Business Meeting
Introduction to the Lesson:

Scripture reading in unison (from memory) Chorus in English: "For God so loved the
World"

Lesson Talk: Proposition; "God made the World, it was man who built the fences! But
God's Love can overcome the fences and boundaries of man!"

One of the biggest fences that man has built is that one composed of barbed wire, machine guns, and tanks, running through the entire length of Germany from north to south. It is commonly referred to, as the "Iron Curtain." Spiritual boundaries have also been bui It up in the minds and hearts of the German people. They might be referred to as the "ism curtain* . as they go by the names of "Communism, ' Catholicism, and Denominationalism." I God's Love can overcome the Spiritual
Boundaries because it is Universal. II God's Love can overcome the Political Boundaries because it is Inter-Racial.

. ..For the people of East Germany, that they might have the courage to stand for Christ
under threat of persecution. ...For health and strength for the Fausz family as they continue in the Lord's work. .. .And for the faithful friends at home, who are sacrificing their time, tithes and of ferings, to make our work in Germany pos
sible!

Closing Chorus in German: "Denn liebte Gott die Welt." (Use same tune as "For God so Loved the World")
Denn Liebte Gott Die Welt

(For God so Loved the Yforld) Denn liebte Gott die Welt, Dass er gab uns seinen Sohn Der wer gestorben war. Am Kreuzberg mit dem Poor. Auf einmal kommt er zuruclc,
mit Herri ichkeit und Glueck! Sein' Lieb ist immer Wunderbarl

Ill God's Love can overcome any and all Fu ture Boundaries becouse it is Everlasting! Conclusion: While Germany straddles the "Iron Curtain," it is in a very good position for carrying the Gospel of our Lord to the vast Godless populace that lies beyond it! As the
iron Curtain serves to limit the free flow of

people wanting to travel across it, it cannot

We have worked and prayed for two years that "if it be God's will,* this opportunity for reaching the people might come! Securing radio time here is not an easy matter. There is a lot of "red tape* in arranging for a broadcast, because the stations are owned and operated by the government, and are not run on a com mercial basis, like the stations in America.
