The Institute for Advanced Studies of World Religions

June.2004

IASWR MICROFORM PUBLICATIONS In 1973 the Institute established a Microform Resources Program to provide scholars an inexpensive source of research materials which otherwise might be inaccessible or too costly to obtain. Since then, the Program has developed into a Microform Resources Department which now produces, duplicates, and distributes numerous titles and over 29,200 microfiche per year. In addition to publishing microfiche editions of large or multi-volume works, the Department also produces (within the provisions of applicable copyright laws) "microfiche on demand" of works which are scarce or out of print. ABOUT US The Institute for Advanced Studies of World Religions (IASWR) provides informational facilities and services to assist individuals, institutions, and organizations for the teaching, study, and practice of religious ways of life. As an information center, the Institute maintains a research library; publishes bibliographies, monographs, and translations of Asian religious texts; produces microfiche copies of scarce or needed materials at nominal charge; and encourages an exchange of information and views among those pursuing religious studies. In order to serve the academic community and general public worldwide, The Institute for Advanced Studies of World Religions has the following objectives: 1. To collect, organize, and preserve religious materials and make them readily available; 2. To provide bibliographic and research data for the study and teaching of world religions; 3. To develop the use of computer technology and micrographics for religious and related studies; 4. To foster the translation and publication of Asian religious texts and studies; and 5. To facilitate contacts and cooperation among those engaged in the study, teaching, and practice of world religions.
