The population of the UK and the USA

Population represents an important part of each country because earth is hallowed by humans. If there are no people, there is no emotion, tradition, memory, and joy. In this order of ideas, I find tremendous to pay some attention to the development of the population in the UK and in the USA. So, for a better understanding, it would be suitable to divide our work into similarities and differences between these two countries. Speaking about the similarities between the UKs population and the USAs one it should be mentioned that in both countries the birth rate remains higher than the death rate. So if in the UK the rate birth is 12.29/1000 people, the death rate is 9.33/1000 people. The same thing happens in the USA where the birth rate is 13.83/1000 people and the death rate is 8.38/1000 people. Another similarity is that the USA and the UK have roughly the same average age, namely in the USA it is 38 years and in the UK is 40 years. The last similarity that could be pointed out concerns the ethnic groups living in the countries under discussion. As the UKs population, the USAs one is an amalgam of nationalities. More accurately, the nationalities that make up the population of the USA are: white, black, Asian, Amerindian and Alaska native, Hawaiian people and other Pacific islander. As for the UKs population, it is composed by: English, Scottish, Welsh, Northern- Irish, black, Indian, Pakistani and others. Taking into account this blending of human races, it should be stated that languages that are spoken in the UK and in the USA are also quite diverse, from English, Gaelic, Irish, Spanish, Polish and Cornish in the UK, to English, Spanish, Chinese, French, Vietnamese, German and Italian in the USA. Starting with the first difference, it should be mentioned that the USAs population is five times more numerous than the UKs one, more precisely the accurate data are: 313,847,465 (July 2012 estimation) for the USA and 62,698,362 for the UK, also according to July 2012 estimation. From here and the superiority of the Americans cities over the United Kingdoms ones in terms of population, for ex: New York-Newark has 19,3milion while London has only 8,615 million. Another distinction that should be mentioned refers to the religious identity in these two countries whose impact upon the population is very major. So, the religions that are practiced in the USA are: Protestant 51%, Roman Catholic 23%, Mormon 1.7%, other Christians 1.6%, Jewish 1.7 %, Buddhist and Muslim, as we can all observe most Americans follow the Protestant churches, and then a big part of them choose the Roman Catholic ones. In contrast, the UKs population opts for the Christianity as the official Church of England, then there is the Roman Catholic Church which comprises only 10%, afterwards there is Presbyterians in Scotland, the Methodist Society, the Baptists, the Quaker and some minor religions such as Hindu, Muslim, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians. The last difference that could be distinguished concerns the population density in these two countries. While Britain is a relatively populated country having a density of 255 people per sq.km, the USA, with a density of 27 people per sq.km, is 9 times less populated than the UK. To conclude, I could certainly affirm, according to what has been said above, that just like the UK, the USA is a nucleus of linguistic, national and religious diversities which have a strong impact upon the development of the population.
