Describe about pictures (TB, page 65) with guidance. b. Tell what they did during school holidays with guidance. c. Tell the places he/she can visit during the school holidays. d. Tell the activities he/she can do there. e. Surf the Internet for information about the places (Mount Kinabalu, AFamosa and National Science Centre). f. Ask and answer simple Wh-Question. Cross-curricular elements: Information and communication technology skills (ICT) and multiple intelligence. Teaching aids: LCD, desktop, speaker, PowerPoint, pictures, textbooks and activity books. Steps: Set Induction 1. Show PowerPoint slides of places for holidays. Get pupils to predict the topic that they will learn.

Pre-Speaking 1. 2. Show PowerPoint slides of picture (TB, page 65). Get pupils to talk about the picture. Q&A about the picture. e.g.: 1. 2. Speaking 3. 4. 5. Ask pupils where they want to go during the next school holidays. Talk about the places they can visit and the activities they can do there. Show PowerPoint slides of pictures of Mount Kinabalu, AFamosa and National Science Centre. In pairs, pupils surf the internet for information about these places such as the name of the places and the activities they can do there. Pupils make notes for the information. Post-Speaking 6. Pupils list down popular places for holidays in Malaysia. What did Zarif do during the holidays? What did you do during the last school holidays?

Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: a. read a paragraph with simple and compound sentences with correct pronunciation. Cross-curricular elements: Values and citizenship. Teaching aids: LCD projector, desktop, PowerPoint of places for holidays in Malaysia, PowerPoint slide of the Leaning Tower, pictures cards, textbooks and exercise books. Steps: Set Induction 1. Show PowerPoint slide of places for holidays in Malaysia. Get pupils to identify the places.

Pre-reading 1. Show PowerPoint slide of the Leaning Tower. Get pupils to talk about the picture by asking Wh-Qs. 2. Q&A about the Leaning Tower. e.g.: a. b. c. d. Reading 3. 4. 5. Show PowerPoint slide of text of the Leaning Tower. Pupils read the text silently. Two good pupils read aloud the text and other pupils read along with them. Ask Wh-Question about the text orally. Pupils answer the questions orally with guidance. What is the name of the building? Where is it? Who built the building? Do you like the building? Why?

Post- reading 6. Pupils answer True (T) or False (F) about the text in the exercise book. (TB, page 69)

Produce a poster of a place that he/she visited. Write a story about the place

Cross-curricular elements: Creativity and innovation. Teaching aids: LCD , desktop, PowerPoint, photographs/pictures, manila cards, coloured pencils, scissors, glue and marker pens. Steps: Set Induction 1. Show a poster. Get pupils to guess what it is.

(Encourage pupils to create poster using his/her own creativity) Pupils create their own poster. Pupils paste the photographs/pictures on a manila card. Teaching aids: LCD, desktop, speaker, PowerPoint, a video on conjunctions (www.youtube.com), textbooks and activity books. Steps: Set Induction 1. 2. Show a video on conjunctions . Show PowerPoint slides on conjunctions.

Place some cards with conjunctions on the board and put in front of the card a number. The pupils then select the cards. If they make a match, they win a point. Then to review, the winning team has to make mimics with the conjunctions that made them the winners. Pupils complete the sentences with and, but or or in the TB, page 71. Pupils fill in the blanks with and, but or or in the AB, page 59. Pupils list down the conjunctions in the unit. ( what they have learned so far)
