IV. Method To test our hypothesis, the most effective and reliable method is an online survey sample.

By conducting an online questionnaire we are able to depict a larger population, remove time constraints, and avoid interviewer effects. Other methods require lengthy time dimensions, whereas, internet methodologies are able to acquire responses instantaneously. To accurately represent the population, we conducted a random sample drawn from online individuals who volunteered to parta e in the panel. The function of this research design is to ma e certain that the results enable us to answer our research question as unambiguously as possible. The initial question is if a causal relationship e!ists between "ealousy and certain settings. To capture an interrelation, we distributed the same online questionnaire to all participants. #e minimi$ed the chance of drawing incorrect inferences from the data by eliminating researcher effects. In a face% to%face survey, respondents may be hesitant to answer personal questions under the presence of the researcher& Online surveys rid these fears by removing the presence of the researcher, thus eliminating the effects of social desirability that cause respondents to answer differently. Because the survey requests personal information regarding his or her relationship, it is important to assure anonymity and confidentiality so that questions are answered truthfully.

In the future, researchers could change or add variables such as partners level of attractiveness, race, nationality, or different settings in order to compare the validity and reliability of our study to their own. *s technology continues to advance, computers are becoming staples in *mericans lives. * growing population accessing the web yields an even larger pool of participants to pull the panel from, creating a more accurate representation of the *merican people.
