WHO SHOULD ATTEND This course is suitable for those who have an Honours degree in Engineering or closely related

discipline or who have extensive practical industrial experience relevant to drilling and well engineering. Students from Nigeria should have a 2:1 or above in Engineering or a related discipline. The course is aimed at practising drilling and well engineers working in oil and gas companies, energy companies, national oil companies, engineering rms and engineering service companies.

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW The course is delivered by Robert Gordon University in partnership with Global College Malta. Students will be taught by lecturers from Robert Gordon University at the premises of Global College Malta located in SmartCity Malta. The blended model of tuition is based on a combination of oncampus lectures delivered by RGU staff at GCM and distance learning. We have worked closely with industry partners, blending a mix of solid theory and hands-on practical experience to develop this course which is now well recognised within industry. The course focuses on the concept of effective well construction, and aims to develop high levels of professional skill in the key areas of well design, drilling and operations management. Through this focus and examining the lifecycle of the well, the course develops high levels of professional competence in the key areas of well design, drilling and operations management and will give you real practical and academic skills which will enhance your career options. The course represents a signicant advance in the delivery of specialised professional development. Its modular structure and exible delivery are designed especially to meet the real world needs of industry.

HOW YOU WILL LEARN Those studying on this blended model course will be taught via a combination of lectures, guest speakers, seminars, lectures, tutorials, discussion and online tutorial via our virtual learning environment. The blended model course uses the same material and content as the full-time oncampus course and typically is delivered by the same subject specialists. Individual Project In order to complete the full MSc you will submit an individual engineering research project with an industry focus. This is designed to allow you to demonstrate the skills and knowledge gained through the course along with integrating and implementing research methods, whilst being of practical relevance.
