An investigation into the design and production process of tyres for auto motives and locomotives. Also want to include a new idea about introducing a colour indicator into tread depth so you would have a visual indicator when tyres are worn etc. !ow it would be possible to add such an idea into every day production. Also will look at if tyre wear and a fail of indicating the tyre has sufficient tread with car crashes and tyre blowouts.

want to answer if my idea which would be a better way to indicate tread depth would be viable, also want to learn and find out how a tyre is produced and learn basically as much as can about it including weakness&s, strengths, designs, materials and performance. !ere are the three ways can do it% 'irstly could use a different colour rubber so when it wears down to the minimum amount the rubber is a different colour for a visual indicator. (econdly could use a sensor inside which when the tyre gets to thin it would send off a signal which then puts a light on in the dashboard which indicates the user to get the tyres changed. Thirdly could put a blister pack in the tyre that pops and puts a stained liquid over the tyres when the rubber gets too thin.

The topic is important because it could improve safety and overall improve the motoring industry. have done some quick research and found out that there is a hole in the market. (o far there has been + or two concepts quite recent and the idea is probably in research so this is the perfect time to start.

'ect&on .our) -esources $hat resources will you need for your research, write up and presentation (eg, libraries, books, journals, equipment, rehearsal space, technology and equipment, venue, physical resources, finance)% ,y main resource for research will be the internet as the information is so vast and updated, the only downfall is some of the information could be incorrect but this is the same with any 0 nd hand source. may use a 8A9 package to actually design a tyre= will mostly be using a computer for everything. shouldn&t need any finance or funding. will also try and find documentaries and informational programs such as >how its made?

The difference between multiple companies, performance between different materials and composites. Treads and designs and incorporating my idea into it all if it&s possible.
