4.1.1
Prerequisites
For MS-OMC Portal / 9359-NPO installation, one NPO license must be available. For the future MS-OMC Portal / 9359-NPO Client: the installation of Windows XP (English or French version) Professional SP2, partition C: (NTFS) must have 4 Gb (minimal size) to 18 Gb (nominal size) a Windows XP license file must be available At least one PC must be available in order to run a web browser (for starting MS-OMC Portal / 9359-NPO via Administration Facilities, etc)
You must have an Internet access. Inform the operator. An operator's representative must be on site otherwise specifically agreed in writing. You must have the [1] Alcatel-Lucent 9359 Network Performance Optimizer - Service Reference Sheet and the [2] Completion Check List (CCL) document. All the input listed in Site Specific Information is available The hardware machine must be installed and cabled according to: For V490: [5] Cabling Description for SUN Machines document For N240: [6] OAM Sun Netra 240 Server Installation and Commissioning document. Only the procedure described in the "HW cabling" section must be done. The rest (command lines, etc.) must not be done because the DVD1 takes in charge all this configuration.
In case of cluster configuration: Each StorEdge SE3510 must have ONE HW RAID Controller # the upper one; the second one should be extracted when the SE3510 is powered-off. Both Master SFV490 and Slave SFV490 must have the same type of PCI boards in the same PCI slot number. V490 # SE3510 FC link # only one FC cable (max 5 m) between the Dual Fiber Channel Host Bus Adaptor <PORT1> and SE3510 First HW RAID Controller <FC0>

Procedure
Step Action
1. Change in 'offlinetool.properties' file Note: This change in "offlinetool.properties" file is to be made ONLY if you are not doing a migration from RNO/NPA. a. Edit the file: /alcatel/muse/MUSE_QOS/offlinetool/config/offlinetool.properties b. Set the value of the parameter muse.offlinetool.historic.partition=FALSE c. Save the file and close the editor. 2. 6.3.6
If you manage to perform a migration from PrOptima to NPO, it is recommended to follow the advices below , if it is not the case go to step 1 For the migration, it is advized to choose a migration end date equal to SUNDAY (in order to migrate a full week at the end of the period). Then, taking into account this advice, the data source should be declared so that data import should start the MONDAY (just after SUNDAY ). This is in order to keep data continuity. Example 1 Migration End Date = SUNDAY (<d>) If Datasource Declaration Date is done on the next THURSDAY (<d>+4) , we should set the parameter MAX_PREVIOUS_DAYS =3 so that data import will start on the MONDAY (<d>+1). Example 2 Migration End Date = SUNDAY (<d>) If Datasource Declaration Date is done on the next TUESDAY (<d>+2) , we should set the parameter MAX_PREVIOUS_DAYS =1 so that data import will start on the MONDAY (<d>+1). In case these recommendations are not followed, the week data covering both End of migration Period and Beginning of QoS import Period would not be reliable (empty or incomplete) after migration. To set the MAX_PREVIOUS_DAYS , follow the steps below :
Procedure
Step Action
1. Open a Terminal window as root. 2. Type: >>cd /alcatel/muse/MUSE_QOS/loader/genericloader >>vi GenericLoader.properties Set the parameter MAX_PREVIOUS_DAYS Note: In case of cluster configuration, MAX_PREVIOUS_DAYS should be set in both

ATTENTION If "Remote " connection, use only ssh, do not use telnet or rlogin.
ATTENTION To be sure to have the latest topology, it is recommended to import manually the parameters or to wait for the day after before declaring data source
Data sources for Parameters, RNP, QoS, Tuning or Supervision must be declared.
Procedure
Step Action
1. Open a "Terminal" window as root. 2. Launch the Firefox browser from the server: >>cd /usr/local/firefox >>./firefox If "Alert" pop-up window appears, click [OK]. 3.
