Hotspot setup guide (Windows XP, Vista, 7)

In order to control wireless users, Hotspot software has to be set up on a gateway computer in your network. For minimal Hotspot configuration you need 3 devices: Hotspot gateway pc system re!uirements: " network cards, "#h$ processor and "#% &'( for )indows *, +, ",,+ and -#% for )indows ./, ",,30 Internet modem1router )i-fi device for providing access to users wi-fi router or access point0

/lease connect one network card to the Internet router and other one to wi-fi device that your customers will use to access Hotspot. If you plan to use a wi-fi router to provide access for customers, please connect it to Hotspot server pc using 2'3 not )'30 port. 3ote that " network cards on the Hotspot server cannot be bridged, the Hotspot Internal0 network has to operate in different I/ range than 45ternal network. /lease refer to the diagram below for the e5ample I/ settings.

E. AH7/ server is configured on the Hotspot network. If you have kept the default I/ address assigned to 3I7" after activating Internet 7onnection ;haring, )indows will act as AH7/ server on -?".-@+.,.5 )indows ./0 or -?".-@+.-3*.5 )indows *0 network. If you decide to use I7; for AH7/, please do not enable 'ntamedia AH7/ during installation. 3ote that Internet modem1router cannot be used as AH7/ server for your clients. @. <here are no applications running on Hotspot that take port +, II;, pro5y software0 *. 'dditionally, these are recommended settings for router1access point used to provide wifi access to users:

- If router has 2'3 4thernet0 and )'3 Internet0 ports, use 2'3 port to connect it to Hotspot server. - If router can be set in '/, &outer, )A; or other mode, please set it in '/ mode - 7onfigure I/ address on router=s 2'3 interface, the I/ has to be in same range as I/ of Hotspot server=s 3I7". - If there is an option to set Aefault #ateway, set I/ of Hotspot server=s 3I7". - If there is an option to set A3; servers, use +.+.+.+ and +.+.>.> - Aisable AH7/ server feature It is recommended to disable antivirus software while installing Hotspot and to add 7:F'ntamedia folder to e5ception list after installation. Hotspot installation and configuration:

In step > choose the type of Internet access Hotspot will provide -". In the last wi$ard page review the final notes and click 7lose )i$ard Cour Hotspot gateway computer is now configured and ready to use. <o test it, go to client computer, open the browser and navigate to some website.
