Introduction
Chlorine is universally accepted for combating slime and algae better than any other chemical. The most important aspect of chlorine usage is its economy and effectiveness in killing bio-organisms. Other uses of chlorine include control of H2S and Odor, fly control, sludge bulking and foaming control,ammonia oxidation,BOD reduction,disinfection,bleaching etc.

Depending upon the mode of operation Gas Chlorinators are classified into two types namely Vacuum-Feed Gas Chlorinator and Gravity Feed Gas Chlorinator. This is a Vacuum Operated Solution Feed Unit.

Principle of Operation

Motive Water (water at high pressure) passes through the injector Automatic Vacuum Regulator to produce vacuum. This vacuum extends upto Automatic Vacuum Regulator (AVR). The chlorine gas supplied (from Tonnes / Cylinders or Chlorine Evaporators) under pressure is reduced to a lower pressure by Normally closed and opens only when there is vacuum, thus regulating the flow of chlorine gas in a controlled manner. Exclusive design ensures minimal risk of handling chlorine gas under pressure.

Comes in Fixed-throat and Variable - throat types. Variable orifices can be provided along with throttle valve for capacities above 50 Kgs/hr thereby reducing water consumption to a minimum. Made of PVC - FRP/ Cast Iron Rubber Lined / Mild Steel Rubberlined.

Accessories shall vary based on specific needs of the Clients (Model, Capacity, levels of automation etc.,). Evaporators have to be used for Chlorinator capacities of above 50 Kgs/Hr. Heaters can be connected to vacuum regulators to ensure adequate flow and prevent reliquification in areas where temperature is very low.

Gravity Feed Gas Chlorinators


Ensures continuous and constant quantity of chlorine solution by using a packed Absorption Tower. Capacity normally ranges from 200 Gms/hr to 40 Kgs / hr of Chlorine. [Higher capacities can also be provided on request ] Simple design, very easy to operate and maintain. Fewer spares, less operating costs.

SALIENT FEATURES
Principle of Operation

Chlorine Gas from Cylinders / Tonners at regulated pressure passes through a Flow Control Valve, Rotameter /Flowmeter , Moisture-Trap and Check Valve to a Packed Absorption Tower where it gets uniformly mixed with the incoming water. The chlorine solution is then discharged to the point of application [normally discharged into a sump or reservoir at an elevation below the Absorption Tower only]. The Flow meter directly indicates the amount of chlorine consumed. It is very important that the required water flow to the absorption Tower, should be constant and continuous at the time of operation for safety reasons.

Flow Meter

Design:

Indicates directly the flow of Chlorine Gas in terms of Grams/ Kilograms/ Pounds consumed per hour., Made of Borosilicate glass and calibrated for 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, kgs/hr of chlorine gas. Accuracy is 4% of indicated flow. Flow can be adjusted by a specially designed Flow Control Valve allied with the Flow meter

3000 parts of chlorine dissolves in one litre of water. Our design consideration is dissolution of 1500 parts of Chlorine in one litre of water. Chlorine gas is released inside the packed [PVC/PP Rashig rings] Absorption Tower with high velocity with 360 degree + 90 degree turn ensuring a uniform and complete mixing. A "Compensating-Head" is provided to avoid Back-surge during pressure drop of Chlorine gas.

Supply of Chlorinator and Accessories shall be as per the Flow diagram and Llist of Items of Supply approved by the Client.
