CHAPTER V (SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS)

SUMMARY The purpose of this study is to identify the negative and positive effects of computer technology to the life and study habits of the students and to prove that most of the students still use the computer technology in a good way and beneficial way that improve and to do their assignments and projects. The researchers made use of a questionnaire to gather all the data needed, The questionnaire was divided into two main sections. Section A. contains the profile of the respondents while Section B contains the questions which explore the perception of the students regarding the effects of computer technology to them. The research questionnaires were distributed to 38 combined students of freshmen nursing and information technology at Saint Marys University. Based from the results of 15 questions we chose only 10 questions to show and the results are the following: 1. Students using computer to do their home works EVERYDAY SOMETIMES 25% 75% 2. CONCLUSION Based on the data gathered from the first year freshmen students of nursing and information technology, the researchers concluded that many of the students are spending their allowances just to use computer in computer cafs and using the computer to do their homework. They use computer in relaying their assignment by visiting the educational websites like Wikipedia.org... And students use computer to communicate with their parents or relatives who are in abroad. Therefore, computers can give a positive and negative effect in the lifestyle of students.

RECOMMENDATIONS Based on the findings of the study the following recommendations are forwarded: Students must not use computer in a long period of time because it can affect their sense of vision and it has a bad affect in their health like radiation. Use computer if it necessary and not only in spending your time. Do not only relay in computers to make your assignments because not all of the data that are installed in the computers are correct. It is much better to use also books to have clear and right information about your assignments. And avoid being addicted to computer games because it can affect your health and studies.
