Title: How does the Magic Flight Launch Box work?

The Magic Flight Launch Box (MFLB) uses a method of vaporization to release organic compounds in the plant used. Vaporization is much healthier and poses less health risks than combustion [1]. Proper use and knowledge of the tips for the best results are imperative for a great experience. In this post, the process of vaporization in regard to the MFLB will be explored.

The box uses a single NiMh type battery that stores 2000 mAh of charge [2]. The battery used to power this device need only be connected to the box on one side. Thus, the user simply pushes the nipple side of the battery into the device in order to power the unit.

Current (orderly flow of electrons in one direction) comes down the negative rod to where it's 'welded' to the mesh of the screen. Notice how the screen wires run straight across (at least half do)? The current then splits into one of the few hundred paths available to the other rod and then back to the positive of the battery (where they join in a chemical reaction that 'pumps' the electrons around the circuit). As 'pressure is lost' (that's voltage to us), power in the form of heat happens. Since about .75 Volts makes it to the mesh (the rest is lost in the battery and connections) that number (in Volts) times the current (15 Amps nominally) gives us the delivered power in Watts. A bit over 11 Watts in our case, the same general level as Omicron for instance. "Log vapes" run about 8 Watts. All the useful work is done by the side to side wires in the mesh, the front to back ones are there for mechanical support only.

The key is the stainless steel of the mesh. It a poor conductor (high resistance relatively) and is really tiny in cross section. A lot goes into that material selection [3].

The formerly described process produces heat through both conduction and infra-red (IR) radiation. IR accounts for approximately 25% of the heat emitted from the device and is the most significant aspect used to regulate heat output [3] . The angles of both the mesh trench and the box itself are imperative to obtaining the best results from IR heating [3]. The use of infra-red heating and temperature regulation makes the MFLB one-of-a-kind. The box typically runs at a temperature range of 329-410 F [2]. This is the point at which the organic material inside the herb is released from a solid state into a gaseous (vapor) state. This is also commonly referred to as the boiling point. The temperature of the box centers at around 392 F during typical use. This is an optimal temperature to release organic compounds from the plant without the risk of combustion at temperatures exceeding 451 F [2].

The vapor produced is inhaled through the front end draw hole of the device. Air is taken in from the air intake on the back of the device. The air drawn in through the pressure created by the user passes through the trench area of the box and out the draw hole through the glass draw stem (which can be omitted of using "native mode). A very slow draw (inhale) is required for best results. If a user inhales too quickly, the air rushing through the trench area will inhibit the conduction and IR processes from sufficiently heating up the herb to an appropriate level for vaporization. Thus, users need to remember that the slower they inhale, the hotter the herb becomes. This notion is also utilized in an advanced

draw method which results in a broader range of temperatures and more visible vapor. Note: if a significant amount of visible vapor is exhaled, users should consider inhaling slightly quicker or holding their breath in for longer. Otherwise, the active compounds, which produce desired results, are wasted and not absorbed into the body.
