In conducting this questionnaire, I found that the target age for my magazine should be 14 16 year olds, as the majority (58%) of people who answered my questionnaire fell within this age bracket. 94% of respondents identify as female, meaning the results are very likely to relate to females more than males. I got people to answer my survey by posting a link to it on my profiles on different social networking websites. This means that I had no control over who answered it. In the future, I think it would be better to take hard copies of my survey and ask people on the street, so that I can ask a more equal amount of people from each gender in order to make the results less bias. The majority of respondents said that they dont read music magazines, and the results for the question What Genres of Music Do
You Prefer To Listen To? were incredibly varied. Because of this, I think the reason a lot of them dont read music magazines could be that there isnt any music that appeals to them in magazines currently on the market. Bearing this in mind, I will try to include bands and artists from multiple genres in my music magazine. Its not a lack of interest in music that is why they arent buying music magazines, with 71% of respondents saying that they spend up to 10 per month on music, and 33% saying that on a scale of 1 to 10 of importance to them, they would rank music as 8. 25% of respondents said that they regularly visit Facebook, and 21% said the same for tumblr. Bearing this in mind, I will include contact details for the magazine on these two websites, and for Twitter as well. Although Twitter wasnt popular with the respondents of this particular survey, in general it is a very popular website. 19% of people asked answered the question What Interests You Most In A Music Magazine? with interviews with bands/artists. When asked What Would You Like To See Featured In A Music Magazine? 23% of respondents said the same. 26% also said they would like to see new artists/bands featured, so I will combine the two and include an interview with an up and coming band or artist. 88% of those asked said they would spend up to 3.50 on a new music magazine, so my magazine will fall within that price range.
