Multiple Injuries (Intra-abdominal)

Medication Analgesic: Paracetamol, Acetaminophen

Dosage/frequence Per Orem: 325-650mg every 4hrs up to a maximum of 1 gram every 6hrs.

Exercise:

Nursing implication Do not take for >5days for pain in children, 10 days for pain in adults, or more than 3 days for fever in adults. Take with food or milk to minimize GI upset. Report pain that persists for more than 3-5 days Avoid alcohol.

Stretching- People may feel particular weakness in certain parts of their bodies Walking in the morning for 15-25minutes.

Theraphy/Treatment: Encourage the patient to take the medications ordered by the physician. Encourage patient to plan resting period for each day.

Health Teachings: Provide demonstration and information on how to manage any drainage systems, colostomy, intravenous therapies, or surgical wounds. For hygiene, Instruct the SO to encourage the client to take a bath daily. Avoid bath in swimming pool, bath tub until incision is completely healed, because might get infections. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after touching or changing the dressing. For wound care, Instruct the SO to always keep the wound clean and dry. Put a dressing in the wound especially when going out. Change it every 1 to 2 days, as directed and inspect the wound for redness, swelling, or other problems. Keep the dressing clean and dry while it's still on. Splint the abdomen with pillow when coughing and sneezing.

OPD/Referrals: Provide patients with detailed instructions that describe signs of undiagnosed injury. Increased abdominal pain or distention, nausea or vomiting, weakness, lightheadedness or fainting, or new bleeding in urine or feces mandates immediate return and further evaluation. Diet: Breads, Cereals, Grains. Safe soft foods in the grains group include cooked cereals such as oatmeal, cream of wheat or easily softened cold cereals. Also acceptable are soft breads and muffins and pancakes. Fruits and Vegetables. Acceptable fresh fruits include bananas, pureed berries put through a strainer to remove skins and seeds, and melon, citrus fruits such as orange to fight infections.

High Protein foods such as chicken, Cooked, fresh or frozen fish without bones such as tuna, salmon or white fishes. Other good protein sources include tofu and wellcooked legumes with soft skins, such as baked beans or lentils for muscle repairing and body building.

Spiritual Care: Provide prayers for the patient having this illness or disease. Let the patient know that there is God who will help us in all our problems.
