Community Thanksgiving Service Tonight

The annual community Thanksgiving service
for Winterset will be held here at St. Paul this
evening, the 24th, at 7:00 p.m., with sermon
by Pastor Jared of the Seventh Day Adventist
Church. Everyone is welcome , and please
invite others. Thanks to those in our
congregation who are helping with it!

Christmas Decorating Party Today
Kim Patience and Sonya VerMulm will host a decorating party after second
service today, to get the church ready for Christmas and Hanging of the
Greens. We will need people to haul items down from the attic, set up trees,
etc. Lunch will be provided also. If you are interested in helping, please let Julie
in the oce know, or contact Kim Patience (515-468-0503).

Poinsettias for Christmas
If you would like to help decorate the church for Christmas, you can buy a
poinsettia. The cost is $14.98. A sign-up sheet is on the kiosk in the hall. We
have ordered 30 poinsettias, so please sign up to claim yours today.

Group Homes Christmas Party

A Christmas list for the residents of the group homes can be found on a kiosk
in the hall. If you have signed up to provide a gift, please bring it (wrapped and
tagged with the recipient) by December 1st. We will host our traditional party
on December 15th at 1:00 pm. If you have questions, ask Twila.

Flowers are given by Matt and Candi Dole in joyful

celebration of their 15th wedding anniversary.

Tour of Homes
We are seeking donations of cookies for the tour of homes, which will be
December 7th, led by Sheila Stewart and crew. If you can provide some, please
bring them to the church by December 6th (or early morning on the 7th).

Devotions in December
St. Paul Lutheran is responsible for devotions at Madison Square and West
Bridge on December 8th.

Hospitality Committees: Assignments for Advent

As tradition goes at St. Paul, we are arranging for several upcoming special events by asking our monthly hospitality
committees to assist with providing a meal (or food for a reception, as the case may be). Here are the assignments for this
Advent season. You will likely be contacted by your committees chair to see if you are able to help or provide a donation.

Communion Outreach
The Health, Wellness & Healing Team is seeing if our homebound (shut-in) members would like to receive communion with
a visit at their residence. The communion would be blessed during a Sunday service and there would be training for those
interested in delivering. Please let Pastor Joel know if you are interested in being part of this outreach.

Scrip Cards for Christmas Giving
In your bulletin today, please see the order form for all the possible cards we can get
through our Scrip program for your holiday giving. As a reminder, the purchase of
these cards through St. Paul generates money for our church. Stacy and Keri would
like to have orders returned by December 8th to allow enough time to receive cards
and get them to you before Christmas. We have a lot of cards on hand, also, with no
need to special order. Just nd Stacy or Keri between services and they can ll you in!

Multi Purpose Center Oering
Next week is our regular oering for the Multi Purpose Center. Canned meats, cereal and baby supplies (diapers, etc.) are
particularly helpful.

CRISP Adopt-A-Family Ornaments

Our mission team has been in touch with CRISP and adopted some people for Christmas. Their wishes are written on
ornaments, which will be placed on the tree in the front hallway. Please check the instruction sheet next to the tree to
make sure we have all the gifts accounted for, or ask Liz Hansen, 462-3987.

New worship calendars are on the ushers table. Youre welcome to pick one up.

St. Pauls Vital Signs

To meet our budget for 2013, our weekly general fund need is $4537.00. Our general fund pays for salaries, the
mortgage, building maintenance, administrative expenses, insurance, utilities, education, and worship expenses.
To meet our pledge of $8500 to the SEIA Synod ELCA for 2013, our weekly benevolence need is $163.46.
