The Commonwealth Games


The Commonwealth Games is the sports festival of Commonwealth countries. J.Ashley Cooper is called as the founder of Commonwealth Games. The Games are held once every four years midway between the Olympic Games. Asian Games
Asian Games is the most important sports event of Asia. Asian Games are held once in four years midway between the Olympic Games. The first Asian Games were held in 1951 in New Delhi by the intiative of Jawaharlal Nehru. Dr. Rajendra Prasad inaugurated the first Asian Games. Eleven Nations participated in the first games.

SAF Games
South Asian Games (SAF games or SAG formerly known as South Asian Federation Games) are a biannual multisport event held among the athletes from South Asia. At present, SAG are joined by eight members namely Afganistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan & Srilanka. The first SAF Games were held at Kathmandu, Nepal (1985). SAF Games (10th) was held at Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka in 2006. 2010 South Asian Games The 2010 South Asian Games took place from January 29 to February 8, 2010 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
