Installation Workover Control Systems (IWOCS)

Oceaneering developed an Installation Workover Control System (IWOCS) in 1990 for use with a mudline tree. Now, Oceaneering offers a large fleet of leased IWOCS designed for all types of installations or workovers, including deepwater projects. Dedicated IWOCS project managers, engineers and technicians oversee and maintain the fleet for daily operations. With dozens of IWOCS units available on call, customers can perform installations and workovers as required on trees from all equipment manufacturers. Oceaneerings IWOCS experience includes record water depths and working pressures to 15,000 lb. Custom capabilities and systems are also offered. Electrically Driven HPU

Defining the state of the art in IWOCS hydraulic power equipment, Oceaneerings electrically driven Hydraulic Power Units (HPU) are built with the high power capabilities required by deepwater drilling markets. The units are capable of pumping water-glycol control fluids, and producing output pressures from 0 to 20,000 psi. Oceaneerings IWOCS power units are available in various sizes, configurations and capabilities that will match a customers specific requirements.

Air Driven HPU

Repeatedly proven offshore, Oceaneering air driven IWOCS HPUs are simple and reliable in operation. Featuring state of the art safety and Emergency Shut Down (ESD) capabilities, air driven HPUs form the core of the IWOCS fleet.

Multi-line IWOCS Reels

From the simplest mud-line tree installation reels to models capable of handling the deepest water depths completed in the Gulf of Mexico, Oceaneerings IWOCS reels are configured for specific job requirements. Electro-hydraulic and direct hydraulic configurations are available.

Utility Reels
Oceaneering also offers smaller utility/single line reels. Available with single hydraulic, HCR flat-pack, or a variety of electric down lines, these umbilical reels fill specific project needs economically.

Installation Workover Control Systems (IWOCS)

Pumping Systems
Installation and workover projects typically require large volume chemical injection pumping systems. Oceaneerings IWOCS include Chemical Injection Systems with pressures ranging to 20,000 psi. All Oceaneering chemical pumps are provided with rig ready bumper systems, manifolds and certified lifting gear.

Electrically Driven Pumping Systems

Driven from rig electrical power, these systems can offer large volume pumping solutions. Offered with Class 1 Div 1 or electrical capabilities, these systems are delivered with operator controls and connections for tote tank fluid reservoirs.

Air Driven Pumping Systems

Driven from rig air supplies, these systems provide an economical alternative to multi-pump, or electrically driven systems. All air driven packages can be connected in parallel to achieve customer required flowrates.

Drillers Console Panels

As secondary panels to key operations and ESD functions, drillers consoles are delivered with carbon steel frames, stainless panels, and project specific tags. The panels are offered in pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrical configurations.

Oceaneering Electrically Piloted Hydraulic (EPH) (Mini-Pod) Control Panels

Developed to drive Oceaneerings electrically piloted hydraulic control module, the Mini-Pod Control Panel provides power and control functions for SIT and on-rig testing of the EPH module.

Accumulator Racks
Oceaneering configures accumulator racks for specific hydraulic requirements, when needed.

Flushing Units
Flushing units are available with the Oceaneering IWOCS to provide efficient filtration of control fluids. Each unit comes ready for work with a rig ready bumper system.

Fluid Analysis Units

Oceaneering service personnel use fluid analysis systems to analyze and confirm the status of fluid contaminant levels during job preparation. These optical units provide operators with an extra measure of system reliability when compared to automated systems.

Deionized Water System

As part of the IWOCS flushing system Oceaneering offers deionized water systems for flushing of chemical and hydraulic systems.

Aluminum Guide Funnel System

The upper portion of Oceaneerings guide wire based deployment system is comprised of lightweight and easy to install aluminum guide funnels.

Installation Workover Control Systems (IWOCS)

Lower Guide Funnels - Steel

As part of Oceaneerings guide wire based IWOCS deployment system, steel guide funnels are the lower most units deployed. These funnels typically are configured with space for umbilical connection hardware and disconnection systems.

Umbilical Riser Clamps

Oceaneering fabricates proprietary umbilical clamps for use with its IWOCS. Constructed of 316 SS with polyurethane inserts, the clamps are designed for fast installation and rock solid stability without damage to the umbilical. Oceaneering offers umbilical clamps in a variety of configurations, including wireline, choke / kill and riser attachment models.

Umbilical & Electrical Turndown Sheaves

Oceaneering utilizes internally designed turn-down sheaves for both electrical and hydraulic umbilical rigging. Designed for quick loading and ease of installation onboard the vessel, the sheaves provide protection to the umbilical from over bending stresses and point loading during running applications.

Tuggers
Oceaneering can provide tuggers for any IWOCS application. Available in a wide range of pull ratings, power sources, braking and wire capacities, Oceaneering can provide a job specific tugger for your application.

Snatch Blocks, Utility Slings & Miscellaneous Rigging

When the overall running rigging requires accessory options to complete the job, Oceaneering can provide the necessary parts. From small utility slings to large capacity snatch blocks, all components are subject to a vigorous maintenance program and are supplied tagged and proof tested.

Mechanical Guillotines
Oceaneerings mechanical guillotines are the simplest configuration for disconnection. The guillotines provide a single point location for the re-termination of the umbilical in the event of a drive off. The guillotines are fixed to a stationary location and are activated by the severing of a shear pin. They are supplied proof tested for a specific load range.

Hydraulic Guillotines
Oceaneerings hydraulic guillotines are similar in principle to the mechanical guillotines. The hydraulic type provides direct user control of the guillotine shearing action.

SEDA Disconnect System

The Subsea Emergency Disconnect Assembly (SEDA) is designed to allow the disconnection of the umbilical from the tree in an emergency event. The SEDA allows disconnection of hydraulic and electrical functions without damage to the umbilical. Hydraulically controlled from the surface, the SEDA can be reconnected via a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV).

Gang Boxes
Utilized for small packages of equipment, gang boxes are constructed of aluminum and steel as required for the project. The boxes are modified on a project by project basis according to job specifications.

Installation Workover Control Systems (IWOCS)

Containers
Typically supplied with a complete IWOCS system, Oceaneering containers are used for bulk storage. The containers meet standard ISO specifications for 10, 20, or 40-foot models and are internally modified as required.

Work Vans
Very similar to our storage containers, Oceaneering offers ISO compliant shipping containers that are internally modified to meet project needs. Typically outfitted with work spaces, small parts storage and lighting, work vans provide a location for maintenance tasks that is isolated from rig work.

Liquid Tote Tanks

Rugged and ready for shipment offshore, Oceaneering can provide liquid tote tanks in a large range of capacities. Tote tanks are provided with tested lifting slings and are labeled for lifting load limits.

Hydrotesting HPUs
Oceaneering offers hydrotesting HPUs for pressures to 30,000 psi, with flow rates up to 4 gallons per minute. Pneumatic or eclectically driven HPUs are available. All units are supplied with certified slings and are approved for offshore use.
