Jacoby, Terry. The Secrets of Urban Meyers Spread Option Offense. American Football Monthly. June 2006. 28 October 2013 The option offense is used throughout football by many teams. The option offense allows the quarterback to extend the play with not only passing the ball, but also running with the ball to hopefully pick up positive yards too. Some option quarterbacks that play in the NFL today are Colin Kaepernick, Michael Vick, Russell Wilson, Robert Griffin III, Geno Smith, and EJ Manuel. This article briefly describes what the option offense is and where it is used, however it does not fully explain it. I wish it explained it more because from watching and playing football, and as a fan of it, I know there are many variations of the option offense and where players line up. This is not incorporated in the article and it should be. This article can be helpful in our project because it explains the style of play in the NFL today. As you can see from it the game is played with more speed and many teams are changing to the option offense. We actually might put a video clip of the option offense in our PowerPoint too. Vince Lombardi Trophy. Topend Sports Network, 1997. Web. 4 Nov. 2013. This article describes what the Lombardi Trophy is and why it is so significant to football. The Lombardi Trophy is the trophy that the players get to hoist and keep after a Super Bowl victory. It is significant to the NFL because it is in honor of Vincent Lombardi, 1959-1967 Green Bay Packers head coach. He won 5 Super Bowl victories as head coach, including the very first Super Bowl too. This article gives many facts about the Lombardi Trophy but it does not give that much information about who Vincent Lombardi is. It would be a better article if a few more sentences were added about Vincent Lombardi. This article will be helpful in our PowerPoint because we could make 1-2 slides just about Vincent Lombardi, the Lombardi trophy, and why it is significant to the NFL. Silver, Jake. Sports Illustrated Regional Covers Feature NFL's Top Young QBs. Bleacher Report, 28 Aug. 2013. Web. 5 Nov. 2013. This article talks about how Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, Robert Griffon III, and Andrew Luck will be featured on the Sports Illustrated magazine cover for the September 2, 2013 issue. Each picture is superimposed with a picture of a Super Bowl champion that compares to the new quarterbacks style of play. This article is good because it talks about the new and emerging quarterbacks of the NFL, but it gives very little information.

I would not include this article or any information in this article because of the amount of information it gives. It does not need to be in our project or PowerPoint because I can get the information presented in this article elsewhere from a better and more informative source. Gregory, Sean. "Scripted for Success." Time Magazine 5 Aug. 2013. Web. 5 Nov. 2013. This article is about how San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick got to the point where he is. He had a different childhood than most people because he was adopted when he was little. Then through hard-work and determination he was able to achieve success. He gets criticized for his tattoos because it does not display a quarterback image or standards. However, he says that the tattoos are meaningful and are inspirational to him. This article is good because it is very inspirational to fans and people who read this article. There really is not a weakness of this article that I could find. I do not know yet where I can incorporate this article in our project but I am thinking somewhere in the PowerPoint. Kell, John. Nike Shows NFL Gear. The Wall Street journal, 4 Apr. 2012. Web. 5 Nov. 2013. This article is about how the every team in the NFL wears a jersey with the Nike logo on it. It talks about and shows different pictures of how the jerseys look now. I think this article is a good one because now the NFL jerseys look sharper and stand out when you are watching football in HD TV. This is another article where I really could not find a weakness to it. We are probably going to use this article or some pictures used in this article in our PowerPoint to show how the jerseys and equipment have changed in the NFL over time. NFL. NFL Record & Fact Book 2013 (Official National Football League Record and Fact Book). N.p.: Editors at the NFL, 2013. Web. 5 Nov. 2013. This article does not give a whole lot of information about the book, however it gives a quick summary of the book in general. This book gives the reader facts and figures about players and teams in the 2013 season in the NFL. I wish the article make more information about the book though. If I ever get a hold of this book, it will be a good source because we can incorporate some of the facts, figures, and information into our PowerPoint. Rovell, Darren. NFL, Riddell ending helmet deal. ESPN, 25 Oct. 2013. Web. 5 Nov. 2013. This article is about Riddell, the company that sponsors NFL helmets, ending the helmet deal with the NFL. This article gives a lot facts and reasons about why they did this but it did not mention about the new company that is going to replace Riddell for sponsoring the NFL helmets. I might use this article in the PowerPoint because it shows how the equipment in the NFL has changed over time. Martinez, Ronald. Sheldon Brown on Reggie Bush. 2013. Getty Images. Web. 5 Nov. 2013.

This picture might be used as a visual in our PowerPoint to show a helmet to helmet hit in football. Alder, James. Supplemental Draft Process. About.com, 2013. Web. 5 Nov. 2013. This article is about the NFL draft. It describes the process of scouting and drafting. This is a big part in not only NFL, but any other major league sports. It gives an opportunity for young kids to go pro and give themselves a career as a professional athlete. I like this article because I am a huge fan of the NFL draft. However, I wish this article gave more information from a fans perspective. I hopefully plan on incorporating this article or information from this article in our PowerPoint in a couple of slides.
