    Whitman in Boston, 1860, from the Letters of Franklin B Sanborn: “He lodges in Boston at Snow's Hotel up near Dover Street among the stage drivers &c for whom he has a strong good feeling.” Young Reporter of Concord, Transcendental Books, 1978. Note well that Sanborn switches to French to make the notorious accusation that Whitman's necktie is the style of sailor's. Sailors were infamous for their sexual adventurousness.
