Sawyer Stroud 1142 East 400 South Salt Lake City, UT 84102

3/6/13 To whom it may concern: Growing up I always had a strong passion and interest in the large bodies of water surrounding me, fascinated with the hidden ecosystems and endless opportunities they presented. Years later, after relocating to Utah, this fascination with lakes and rivers has developed. My enthusiasm towards positive outdoor recreation experiences and wilderness exploration have led me to a summer position at a small rafting company which operates on class II rapids just outside of Park City, UT. Rafting has become a key component of my liveliness, along with the lifestyle that is associated with the sport. Whether Im taking large commercial trips down the river or throwing flies and lures from the shore, Ive come to appreciate any day spent outdoors and in nature.

As an avid outdoorsman, I have always viewed O.A.R.S. as a leader in outfitting and expeditions, viewing them on an equally professional and environmental level as NOLS. Offering the best rafting and kayaking destinations on earth, I believe my concern and interest with the natural history surrounding these bodies of water would be very interesting and easy to incorporate into commercial trips. My specific interests with O.A.R.S. would be river guiding in California or working in Yellowstone doing kayak expeditions.

I have attached my current resume and can provide references upon request. This said I would love to arrange an interview for future employment opportunities with O.A.R.S. As a current resident of Salt Lake City I frequently travel to take advantage of the great surrounding wilderness. I would be more than willing to travel for an arranged interview or skills assessment and will stay in touch regarding employment opportunities with your company. Thanks so much for your time.

Sincerely, Sawyer Stroud
