1 Introduction
This is a guide for the calibration and verification of a CPC 100 unit. It helps the CPC 100 user to verify, whether the unit is still within the tolerance limits as specified in the "Technical Data" section of the "CPC 100 Reference Manual". To perform calibrations measurement equipment that has a higher accuracy than the unit that is calibrated is needed. Equipment used for factory calibration of all OMICRON units is traceable to national standards (DKD, KD). To ensure an unbroken chain of traceability, all necessary measuring instruments are calibrated and compared to national standards at the DKD (Deutscher Kalibrierdienst) or KD (sterreichischer Kalibrierdienst) laboratories at regular intervals. If a recalibration is done, traceability of the equipment used has to be assured by the user. The user therefore must take the accuracy of his measuring instruments, his own reference standards and those of the CPC into account. The tables in the appendix can be used to enter the tolerances of the equipment and the results. If results of the measurements show that the CPC unit is out of the specified tolerance, the unit must be sent to OMICRON electronics for adjustment and recalibration. It is not possible for the user to perform adjustments of a CPC unit. When sending a unit to OMICRON, please attach a copy of the calibration results and send as much background information as possible. Calibration of the CPC is guaranteed for one year after the date of calibration. The phase calibration will not be elaborated on. The principle of measurement for the common phase measurement devices (i.e. measurement of the zero crossings) is not suitable to measure the phase angle of the CPC (due to high phase resolution as well as widely differing signals; e.g. 2000 V and 800 A). Based on the concept and the digital signal generation of the CPC, it can be assumed that the phase accuracy will also be within the guaranteed specified values if all the other calibration checks prove to be in order.
Warning
Only qualified, service trained personnel who are aware of the hazards involved should remove or connect wiring to the CPC. Measuring high voltages is always hazardous. All CPC terminals (both front and side) must be considered as hazardous whenever inputs in excess of 42V are connected to any terminal. Also read the chapter Safety Instructions of the CPC100 reference manual.

To use the LowLevel-Outputs of the CMC a CMLIB A - Box is mandatory.

They are only used to control the output current of the CPC high voltage output.
