Flow and Fill Drill The HB will run through 1 of the 6 gaps. LB's need to take read steps, flow to the ball and fill the gap. Note: LB's need to flow to the gap but not over pursuit. Focus on filling the gap and wrapping up the ball carrier,

ANGLE TACKLING & PURSUIT DRILL HB1 will run through his numbered gap. B1 will tackle the HB using the correct technique. Ensure that the B bites the ball and wraps up the HB. H2 will run through his numbered gap. B2 will tackle the HB using the correct technique. Ensure that the B bites the ball and wraps up the HB. H3 will run through his numbered gap. B3 will tackle the HB3 using the correct technique. Ensure that the B bites the ball and wraps up the HB. All 3 HB's & B's run on the whistle.

The HB will run either right or left. The B to that side will perform a proper tackle, biting the ball and wrapping up the HB. The next B will try to strip the ball from the HB.

Note: This drill will teach the tackler to perform a proper tackle and the technique for stripping the football.

FOOTWORK AND INTERCEPTION DRILL LB's move through the course inbetween the 2nd & 3rd bag a ball will be rolled up and the LB must push the ball back and hop over the 3rd bag and then continue through the course. At the bottom of the 4th bag the LB will read the QB and angle through the 2 bags and intercept a pass, call FIRE and run through the end zone.

Note: LB's need to use proper form going through the course. Pay attention to staying low and and using proper foot work.

FOOTWORK AND FUMBLE DRILL LB's angle through first set of bags then hop through the next 3 bags. At #1 they will shed the ball and then angle through the next 2 bags. Hop over the next 3 bags and at #2 recover a fumble.

Note: LB's need to fall on the football and curl up securing the ball tightly against their body.

REPEL AND TACKLING DRILL LB'S scrape down to 1st gap and repel the ball then angle out of gap. Scrape down to the 2nd gap and repel the ball then angle out of the gap. Flow to the HB and perform a good angle tackle.
