Take a moment and Wonder..

Every October, Rotarians are encouraged to focus their attention on vocational service. Vocational Service Month is an opportunity to begin year-long vocational service activities, ranging from Rotary discussions to awards to community projects. The concept of Vocational Service calls on Rotarians to encourage and foster: High ethical standards in business and professions The recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations The dignifying of each Rotarians occupation as an opportunity to serve society Therefore, take a moment and ask yourself: Do you value and recognize all useful occupations? Do you strive for the highest ethical standards? Do you use your vocational talents to serve society? As a Rotarian, how can you put these ideals into action? Consider these suggestions: Talk about your vocation in your club, and take time to learn about fellow members vocations. Use your professional skills to serve a community. Practice your profession with integrity, and inspire others to behave ethically through your own words and actions. Help a young person achieve his or her career aspirations. Guide and encourage others in their professional development. Rtn. Marjan Modara Director of Vocational Services

Rotaract Club Clothing Drive Project

Quote to reflect. let us have but one end in view, the welfare of humanity; and let us put aside all selfishness in consideration of language, nationality, or religion.

Why wear a Rotary pin?

Reasons for wearing a pin varied: for publicity of Rotary, for pride, for acceptance and recognition, for the start of easy conversation with other Rotarians wherever you go. Wearing a Rotary Fellowship pin shows a Rotarians vocation, hobby or recreational interest. Past RI President Bob Barth (1993-94, from the Rotary Club of Aarau, Switzerland) felt that a Rotary pin says this about the wearer: You can rely on me, I am dependable, I am reliable, I give more than I take, and I am available.

FolFollowing a month-long collection drive, the Rotaract Club of Bahrain began distributing clothes to migrant workers in different camps and villages across Saar and Budaiya. More than 400 items of clothing were collected from club members, their colleagues, friends and family as well as at a few special gatherings. The clothing items included much needed apparel of jackets, coats, shirts and even suits. Women's clothing were donated separately to the Philippine Embassy, which would help some of the migrant women in need. Overall the project was a success and would not have been possible without the kind generosity of the donors. The Rotaract Club of Bahrain now looks forward to its next projects and hopes to make an even bigger impact.
