General Instructions, Schedule, Seating Plan & Invigilation Duty

General Instructions: 1. The sealed packet of question paper must be handed over to the department office on the previous working day of scheduled quiz/exam date. The department office will help in photocopying and sealing of question paper but must be under the supervision of respective faculty member. For security reasons, question papers should not be sent to the department office through email requesting for photocopying and sealing. 2. If any quiz/exam needs to be conducted outside regular schedule, the concerned faculty must inform department office well in advance and take the responsibility of booking rooms & invigilation duty by himself/herself (PhD scholars can be assigned for invigilation duty). However, Quiz-I and II should not be conducted during unusual hours (early morning, lunch time, afternoon, late evening) in week days. This is to stop students' tendency of bunking classes in the name of quiz preparations. 3. Staff members on invigilation duty must report to the department office atleast 20 minutes before the start of the exam to collect the blank answer sheets and sealed question papers. Invigilators must be available in their duty rooms throughout the exam duration and move around. Identity cards of the students must be checked. Students must not be allowed to copy /consult/discuss/disturb during the exam. In such situations, the guilty student must be warned and the misconduct should be reported to the concerned faculty member. 4. Invigilator who is not in a position to attend his/her invigilation duty, he/she must arrange for a substitute well in advance and inform to the department office accordingly. 5. Department office will ensure drinking water (in front of every exam hall) and tea/coffee, etc. for the invigilators in time.
