Orientation Unit Drama 10s

Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School Fall 2013 Elyse Whittaker Rational
The orientation unit is arguably the most important unit in the Drama 10 course. This unit is dedicated to establishing a strong cohesive classroom team. I also will be striving to bring all my students up to the same level of skill required of them no matter their drama education background. By bringing students into this classroom in a warm, supportive and encouraging manner I am establishing a positive classroom environment where students will feel open and safe to explore this art form. It is important to have students interested in drama because this subject bring students so many life skills that otherwise could be missed. In this unit students will learn basic theatre processes including characterization, movement, vocal practices, creating and building stories, and acting rules. Strongly focusing on transition, equalization, diagnosis and student motivation.
