ENGAGING THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST FOR TRIUMPH, PT 1

INTRODUCTION:
We live in an embattled world 1 John 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. The dark places of the earth is full of habitation of cruelty Psalms 74:20 Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty. We have serpents, scorpions and the powers of the enemy lying on our path Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. In fact, mankind walks through the valley of the shadow of death on a daily basis - Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. We therefore need to be empowered for conquest or destiny remains at risk- Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

WHO IS THE HOLY GHOST?

The Holy Spirit is the 3rd person in the Godhead 1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (See also Gen 1:1-2) He is Gods power house Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. He is the Spirit of holiness Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: (Jesus declared as son after the dove settled on him Matt 3:16-17) He is our access to the deep things of God 1 Corinthians 2:9-14 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. He is our guide and strength in prayer Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. He commands all-round breakthrough Isaiah 45:1-3 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: And I will give thee the

He is our eternal helper John 14:16-18 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

HOW TO RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST?

Repent (Be Born Again) Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (See also Proverbs 1:23) Thirst for Him John 7:37-39 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If
any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified). (Please see also Isa 41:17-22)

Open up your heart to the word Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. (See also John 6:63) Ask in faith Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much

Through laying on of hands Acts 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy

Ghost. (See also Acts 19:1-6) NB: The Holy Spirit exist in various measures and one needs to keep his thirst alive to ensure constant rise in the various measures available in the Holy Ghost. (See Jn 3:34, Rev 5:6, Eze 47:1-5)

HOW TO ENGAGE THE HOLY GHOST IN BATTLE

The believer is ordained for a victorious life. 1 John 5:4 Three things that result in victory in battles: STRENGTH, STRATEGY, SKILL (The Three S)
Praying in the Holy Ghost Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. (See also 1 Cor 14:2-4, Rom 8:26) This ensures STRENGTH - Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; (See Pro 4:24) Connecting with the sent word as inspired by the Holy Ghost 1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. (See Ps 107:20) This imparts wisdom for STRATEGIES - Ecclesiastes 10:15 The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city. (See Pro 24:6 By wise counsel, make war) Covet to function in the gifts of the Spirit - Eph 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (See 1Cor 12:7; 14:1)
