Re: Syllabus for Ph test Postby Anupam (1892722) Thu Mar 14, 2013 11:43 am Ok here is my two cent

t : I gave my PH test on 3rd March, 2013. Verbal - 74.82% (I attempted most as it usually happens in verbal, but guess som e of them were wrong.) Problem Solving - 71.08% (I attempted only 5 questions. I am 100% sure all were correct. No guessing in this section.) Quantitative - 89.20% (I solved 7 question. Sure 100% they were correct. No gues sing in this section.) Overall Score - 86.18% I have rescheduled another test on 17th March, 2013. Here is what you should do : 1. Quants : Let me tell you this section is no game play. It won't be like any t est you have seen. There were 20 questions and I could solve only 7 in 7 0 mins(I gave quants this much time out of 120 mins). Though I could have solved 2 more if only I would have revised PnC and geometry. The standard of the quest ions are CAT level (though I never gave CAT myself.) or may be beyond. For prepa rations : Well to be frank, you can't really prepare for this exam in 2/3 months . You should be good in maths from childhood and all concepts should be clear. D on't worry about formula : They are written on question paper : But you should k now how to use it. Let me tell you,no question will be direct. They give problem s mostly from PnC, numeric system, profit/loss, distance/time, geometry, probabi lity, percentages. 2. Problem Solving : Well I blew it in this section. Tips : Well take one logical reasoning para (which seems easy to you) and give it solid 10-15 mins you will get it right. Some questions of other passages may be easy too. Don't leave them. For preparat ion : You can solve some reasoning questions from some book. Time breakup (in mins) :ugeek: : 70 (qunats) + 20 (prob.solving) + 20(Verbal) + 10(for some questions you want to have second look). About Negative Marking : Most weird rule I have ever seen. ::(Sectional wise) If you get more than 25% of your attempted questions wrong, each next wrong attemp t will be counted in negative marking. Negative is 1/3 of correct. e.g Suppose i f you attempted 20(yup, thats all !!) question in Quants and you get 5 wrong/ 15 correct - No negative marking for you then. But if you get 6 wrong/14 correct, then the 6th wrong one will be counted on negative marks. Remember : It is 25% attempted wrong(safe zone) :: More than 25% attempted wrong (Danger zone) All the best. Finally gave elitmus again on 31 march and scored 98 percentile total. All the b est guys. Last edited by Anupam (1892722) on Fri May 03, 2013 3:44 pm, edited 1 time in to tal.
