Muscles Raps

3rd Grade There are muscles in my body, There are 8 I should know. In the front of my body, And the back, here we go. Pectoralis Major and my Biceps, ooh. Abdominals and Quadriceps are in the front too! Deltoid, Triceps, and Hamstrings in the back. Now sit on my Gluteus Maximus, smack!

4th Grade There are muscles in my body, there are 12 I should know. In the front of my body there are 6, here we go. Pectoralis Major and my Biceps, ooh. Abdominals, Obliques in my stomach too. Sartorius and Quadriceps are in my legs, ugh. And those are the 6 in the front wooh! There are muscles in my body, there are 12 I should know. In the back of my body there are 6, here we go. Triceps and Trapezius are in the back, ooh. Latisimus Dorsi and the Deltoids too. In the back of my legs are my Hamstrings, ugh. Gluteus Maximus, now sit down wooh!

5th Grade There are muscles in my body, there are 16 I should know. In the front of my body there are 8, here we go. Pectoralis Major and my Biceps, ooh. Sternocleidomastoid and my Tibialis too. Abdominals, Obliques in my stomach, ooh. Quadriceps, Sartorius are in my legs, wooh.

Other activities taught for the BONES unit: -Develop several sets of bone label cards for students to use in various games. -Build and Label Mr. Bones. We have 6. -Make bodies on chart paper and have them label the bones on them. -Hide bone label cards under dome cones and have certain teams search for 7 different cards. -Put bone label cards in center circle and have taggers guard them. Each team tries to steal the cards from the center. -Sing the Macarena to each other. Other activities taught for the MUSCLES unit: -Develop several sets of muscle label cards for students to use in various games. -Make bodies on chart paper and have them label the bones on them. Have them do front bones and then back bones. We never mix them up. -Hide muscle label cards under dome cones and have certain teams search for either front or back muscles. Label your body charts. -Put muscle label cards in center circle and have taggers guard them. Each team tries to steal the cards from the center, searching for either front or back. Label your body charts. -Rap to each other. Assessments We have a district assessment for 4th graders to label the muscles. The students have 2 options for doing the assessment: They can rap the song, and point to the muscles. They can label the paper charts.
