Electronic Newsletter for Wyomings OUT-OF-OPTIONS Furkids

December 9, 2013

e-WOOF is a bi-monthly

e-newsletter produced by a small group of Wyoming dog rescuers in an effort to highlight shelter dogs in critical need of help.

URGENT - Casper Metro Animal Control Contact: Cathy Corbin at 307-267-6524 or rescuerangers2@yahoo.com DART is a Pug mix, 3 years old. I am a victim of a hoarding situation. However, I am a very sweet little guy who likes people and other dogs. I was given the name Dart by the folks at the pound. I dont understand anything which has happened to me, and I am scared being in the pound. My picture was taken the weekend I came in, and I was terrified then. Now, I enjoy being outside and going for a walk. I will make a great family member, and I am praying for a warm and loving home where I can flourish and give my heart to my family. Will someone please give me a home as a Christmas present? Im waiting at the pound! UNO is a Pug mix, 5 months old. I, too, am a victim of a hoarding situation. I enjoy being outside, and I am learning the joy of being able to go for a walk. I find it very comforting to be near humans, or to be held by a human, and to receive pets and loves from them. My name was given to me by the folks at the pound. At only 5 months old, I am an open book with blank pages meaning I am ready to learn the skills of being a great family member. My one hope is someone will adopt me and give me a chance to show what a good family member I can be, and also show them how much love is inside my heart. I would love to be home for the holidays. I can be found at the pound. BLAKE is a Beagle mix, 7 months old. My name is Blake, although
in the past I was named Sparky. I am neutered, and I like people and other dogs. I am also housebroken and I enjoy car rides, bones, and going for walks, and doing some sniffing. I dont jump fences, and I am a happy guy with a great lab smile! I like to be the prince of the house, so it might be best if there are no small children in the home. I hope someone will come meet me and see if we are a good fit for one another. I am located at the pound.

e-WOOF spotlights many dogs that face euthanasia within days unless they are rescued, fostered, or adopted.
Transport can be arranged, in most cases, to approved adoptive or foster homes or rescue organizations. Please help us! These are good, healthy, happy, loving dogs that are out of luck and out of time. We urge you to crosspost to e-mail lists and Web groups, forward to friends, send to co-workers, and share with family. We hope our efforts, combined with yours, will save many lives.

Time is of the essence for helping the dogs featured in the e-WOOF newsletters. Please contact the name/numbers for each dog before contacting eWOOF. In most cases, time is limited for the dogs featured in our newsletters--with that in mind, we try to get the word out to as many contacts as we can using this publication. Work on behalf of the animals for finding them homes and/ or rescues comes from many, many sources and is an ONGOING effort dealt with a sense of urgency. In some cases there may be times when a sudden adoption and/or rescue comes through at the exact time our newsletter is issued. This is an unforeseen circumstance on our part--while we certainly understand the crossover may cause frustrations for you as the prospective adopter of an animal we hope you join us in rejoicing for an animal being saved. We appreciate and thank you for your continued support FOR THE

Western Australian Shepherd Rescue Contact: rugby_chase@hotmail.com http://www.westernaustralianshepherdrescue.com DORY is such a sweet girl and has been waiting so long for her
forever home. She is 4 years old, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. She gets along with dogs as long as they are not dominant and bossy. She is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. You can see by her eyes that she loves everyone. Dory also LOVES to play ball. (formerly known as Wyoming Aussie Rescue)

BRUNO is a neutered male Border Collie Aussie mix. He is 18-24 months old and weighs about 55-60 lbs. In his foster home he has been great with all the other dogs. He has also been great with children but he likely would be a little rough around small children. He would probably knock them over. He is very loving and for the most part listens well. He loves to play fetch and his foster family is working on him giving the ball back. An active person would love him as a companion. Running, hiking, etc. Bruno is in the Denver area. ____________ Park County Animal Shelter -- Cody, WY Contact: 307-587-5110 or manager@parkcountyanimalshelter.com BARKLEY is a handsome 1-2 year old Shepherd/Rottweiler mix. He has lots of energy and loves to play, but also is a huge lover! He thinks he is a lap dog, and just wants to be close to you. He would probably be best in a home without cats or small children; his energy level may be a little intimidating for a small child. He does get along well with other dogs! BELLE is a 1- year old Bloodhound/Redbone Hound. She was
the mama of a litter of adorable puppies who all found good homes, and now she is looking for her own forever family. She is a little wary of strangers at first, but once this girl warms up to you she is a doll! She is a loving girl with a sweet personality.

Poor Sophia had a sad past with an owner who abused her, so she can be a little timid at first. Once you arent a stranger anymore it is hard to tell she had ever been abused! She is playful and affectionate, and a great all-around dog! ____________ Black Dog Animal Rescue -- Cheyenne, WY Contact: 307-214-6600 or bdar@bdar.org HAMBY Hi! would love nothing more than to snuggle up with you on the couch and snooze. Ill even crawl right in your lap! Foster mom calls me a couch potato, because I love to lay in the sun and enjoy my comfy dog bed. I have great house manners, except when it comes to the kitty. Those kitties are just too tempting for me, so its probably best if I go to a home without one. I know basic commands like sit and lay down, and Im learning more every day. Foster mom says Im really smart and eager to please. I love wrestling and playing with my younger foster brother, and Ill even snuggle up and snooze with him, too. Foster mom says as long as there arent cats in the house, I can be trusted with free roam when no one is home. I will need a 6 wooden fence to keep me safe. My very favorite thing to do is ride in the car. I would love to go anywhere with you and would make a great travel buddy, even on long trips. Just give me the chance, and I promise Ill be the perfect dog for you!

DUFF is a gentle, sweet, playful, sensitive and quiet boy. He is house trained, crate trained and just an overall pleaser. He knows some basic commands and is a great listener. He loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home and does so nicely. Even though he can be quite rambunctious with his doggie friends, he is not wild otherwise. He likes to just follow his people around the house and curl up in a ball on his favorite dog bed while they watch TV. Duff can be a little unsure of certain people. But, once he warms up he is very sweet and charming. We have Duff marked as no small children because they seem to make him a little nervous. We think a home with children ages 6+ would make him feel most comfortable. Duff is a great size too! At about 35 pounds hed make a great go anywhere kind of companion. Although he hasnt been yet, his foster home is sure hed make a great hiking and camping buddy or running partner. We feel that Duff needs a playful young doggie friend to pal around with to truly be happy. If you are looking for a new buddy for you and your dog, Duff is your man! Be careful though, he has his sad eyes mastered and will have you eating out of his paw in no time! MINNIE. Hi! I am settling into my new foster home very nicely!
I am really smart and I have already learned to kennel, sit, down, and stay! I am working on heel and I put myself to bed at night in my kennel if I get tired. I am not very motivated by traditional dog treats, but my foster mom figured out that I love bread and I will do whatever you ask of me if that is my treat! I live with one other dog and two cats and I am great with them. I walk very nicely on a leash now and my house manners are great! It had been a long time since I had lived in a house before BDAR came to get me, but now that I have had a little time to settle in I remember how much I love to live in a home and be part of the family! ____________
