Introduction

The purpose to develop this project was to assist in the management of blood donor records Provides ease of controlling the distribution of blood in various parts of the country based on the hospital demands. The Smart blood management system offers functionalities to quick access to donor records collected from various parts of the country. It provides to management timely, confidential and secure medical reports that facilitates planning and decision making and hence improved medical service delivery

Problem Definition
To build a solution to the ever growing requirement of blood due to accidents and various health problems the system is developed for accessing the information about various blood banks and hospitals and their blood stock. Providing information of donor.

Screening Procedure
In the screening they identify whether the donors blood type is A, B, AB, O and the donors Rh(D) type is positive or negative. All donated blood are tested for infections Such as HIV, HepB , HepC, MP, VDRL. The blood is usually discarded if any of these tests are positive. There are 2 types of tests .They are SPOT test, ELISA test

Cross Matching Testing

Before a transfusion, compatibility testing between donors and patients blood must be done. Firstly they perform testing to determine the blood type of patients and perform cross matching test to identify compatible blood components for blood transfusions.

Component separation

The blood is separated into parts RBCand Platelets after the screening.RBC and Platlets are separated from all types of packs. Platelets are separated from triple(AS) and quadruple packs only.

If the pack is double or triple, RBC component will be expired within 35 days from date of collection. If the pack is triple(AS) or quadruple, RBC component will be expired with in 42 days from date of collection. Platelets will be expired within 5 days from the date of collection.

Conclusion
We can conclude by saying that Blood Donor Database is an online centralized web portal, which help Blood banks and Hospitals and any other users to look for Donors in their nearby area who will be available in quick time. And also keep track of Donors health report to evaluate quickly. This system helps the admin to check the database when he wants and it is very flexible for the Hospital Management and Blood Banks and any users to retrieve the data when they want and they can have the data according to the query given by the user from one particular date to another particular date by the query given by admin As the donors data is saved in the system we can reject those who have any infections. As we have the contact number of the donor we can contact donor whenever necessary comes.

Since we have the expiry date of the packs we can have a proper storage management
system.

Future Works
We would like to enhance the system by adding following functions: SMS facility for donors as well as receivers for ease of their interaction with the system. Biometric system will be added to have more ensured security and authenticity. Tracking the eligible donor by the administrator through his mobile locality. Automating the Cross Matching procedure in the system.
