Learning Intentions: Pupils will be able to: -write a script based on lines from Shakespeare. -stage and rehearse a scene. -understand and create suspense within a scene. -understand the function and importance of the five parts of a play/story. -identify character traits and write from the perspective of their character in Macbeth scene.
Success Criteria( where applicable): Students will write the script for their scene. Students will work together to stage and rehearse scene. Differentiation: Students working on scenes will have additional tasks for when/if they finish early (rehearsal, character reflection) Extra attention to Enya for appropriate behaviour.
Due in by: 10/12/13 To characterize and relate to the character in the scene Write a brief summary (2-3 paragraphs) from the perspective of the character you are acting in the scene
Learning Activities Stage Introduction Time: Teaching Points / Key Questions Expectations (5 min) Teacher / Pupil Activities -Teacher lists expectations for behaviour during group scene and work time -ever student must be equally involved -we use kind words and tone -we listen to each others ideas -any additions by girls -Students make a list of good and bad characteristics of a scene (i.e. facing forward, being loud enough, using voice/body language to convey message) -Students complete scripts and make copies for each group member -Once finished, they may rehearse their scenes in small groups with attention to suspense, staging and -Girls must create a list of props, costumes, and other necessities for performance on Tuesday (i.e. music, background picture, etc) -If finished early, girls may begin work on Character Reflection -Teacher passes out Character Reflection assignment -Students read instructions aloud, ask any questions -Teacher models example with Lady Macbeth -Students will complete Character Reflection as homework before Tuesday -If additional time, students will work on Language section of Parts of the Play Assessment/Verification of learning intentions
