A. Background Special Region of Yogyakarta has a pretty neat and captivating city structure, ranging from parks , parking lots, tourist attractions places and also places to hang out are built in such ways so that people will be very comfortable in that places. Mall is one of the place where is often visited with a variety of purposes, whether they are just hanging out to have fun or gain their prestige, window shopping, or buying their daily needs. Mall is also often become a place to organize big events or exhibits because it is a strategic place to gain interest. Special Region of Yogyakarta has three large malls, namely Malioboro Mall, Galeria Mall, and Plaza Ambarukmo. Malioboro Mall is located at Jalan Malioboro, Galeria Mall is located at Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, while Ambarukmo Plaza is located at Jalan Laksda Adi Sucipto. Ambarukmo Plaza or usually called with Amplaz is the largest and most complete mall not only in Yogyakarta but also in Central Java. This mall is designed with classic architectural concept and is located at Jalan Adisucipto which is the artery road that is connecting Yogyakarta Solo. The land is just next to Ambarukmo Hotel that is re-opened after a long time becomes unused. Ambarukmo Plaza is occupied by various tenants who are able to meet all the needs of families, parents and children ranging from monthly shopping needs, clothing, entertainment, books, salon, body treatments to food . As for the exhibition Plaza area has several exhibition area that can be used for exhibitions or other promotional event. Ambarukmo plaza has parking area that can accommodate 1,400 cars and 1,500 motorcycles . The parking area is located in the basement up to the roof top, and managed by a professional parking management company and very experienced . With the complete facilities of Ambarukmo Plaza that are mentioned above, this place becomes a favorite destination to fulfill their needs and spend their freetime, especially on the weekend after being busy at works or school days before. The large amount of people who are willing to spend their time in Ambarukmo Plaza give effect to the traffic around this place. The large

amount of vehicles that want to enter the building is always make a long line that create a congestion on the road. And although Ambarukmo Plaza already has parking space inside the building, there are still a lot of vehicle parking on the outside. B. Purpose of The Paper With the conditions that mentioned above, the writers make a survey of the traffic condition around Ambarukmo Plaza and also parking condition. The purposes of this survey are To see the traffic condition around Ambarukmo Plaza To see the condition of parking lots inside and outside Ambarukmo Plaza To know the noise in peak hour To evaluate volume and capacity of traffic To evaluate parking lots
