Who is your hero? Who is that one person that made the difference in your life? Mine is an honest, fair, and an admirable man. He is one the reasons that we are a free country. He has shaped our country drastically. My hero is the none other than the father of our country, The American Cincinnatus, The American Fabius, The Town Destroyer. He also goes by George Washington. He was born on the 22 of February in the fateful year of 1732, the eldest of six kids to Augustine Washington and Mary Ball. In July, at seventeen years of age, Washington secured an appointment as county surveyor for the newly created frontier county of Culpeper. He worked hard to establish himself in the gentrys class; he saved his money and bought unclaimed land. He was well on his way to a successful and profitable career. At age 22 he became a lieutenant colonel for the British Army. In recognition of his work, Washington was given command of Virginia's entire military force. When peace returned to Virginia, Washington resigned to Mount Vernon, and married the Lovely Martha. However when trouble started brewing in the Colonies, In the June of 1775, Congress decided George Washington should take command of the Continental Army. He was the one to lead America to victory at the battle of Yorktown. He then retired to farming after the war. This act, made him an international hero. He helped to right the constitution with every thought of again returning to his simple life, but when the votes were in every elector had the same vote. That name was George Washington. George Washington is a very influential man that was looked up to back then and he still is now. He was brave, noble and stood up to what he believed in. Everyone can hear of him and say we should all be a little bit more like this guy. Everyone should strive for his great characteristics that make him a hero. First, we should look up to his intelligence and ability to persevere. He went through hard times and pushed himself back up. When his father died he couldnt complete his education and struggled. He worked hard to get respect and be in the gentrys class. Once he gained respect he didnt take advantage of it with greed in his eyes, but on the contrary did what needed to be done then returned peacefully serving others without power in return. If everyone had these traits then the world might be a much better place with no greedy or thirsty for power kind of people. In Conclusion, George Washington is my hero for his well respected and honorable traits. It is important to acknowledge thanks and the wonders of this man. Without him we night not have the United States of America. He is a role
