Teacher shows pupils some CCTS: Describing MI: Linguistics and visual intelligences

pictures of a moon in different situations such as day and night. 2) Teacher asks pupils to talk about the pictures by asking them a few Wh-questions. i. How big a moon is? is

ii. What makes you think moon beautiful? iii. Why do we need a moon?

3) Teacher briefly explains about the moon. For example: i) A picture of the moon at the night time. ii) A picture of the moon at the day time Presentation (10 minutes) The story entitled, The Miserable Moon by Wong Ching Hsia. 1) Teacher plays a video about The Miserable Moon that recorded by the teacher while pupils listen to the story. 2) Teacher distributes a hand-out about the story to each of the pupils. 3) Pupils have been asked a few CCTS: Skimming and scanning MI: Linguistics and Verbal Intelligences RESOURCES: Video and hand-out

WH-questions pertaining to the story. 3) Pupils answer teachers questions by scanning the story and give evidence. Practise (5 minutes) Worksheet 1) Teacher distributes worksheets to pupils. 2) Pupils need to orally answer a few questions pertaining to the story by listening to a MP3 version of the story recorded by teacher. 3) Pupils listen twice and answer questions in the worksheet. 4) Teacher checks the answers by asking a few pupils to answer verbally. Production (10 minutes) Four pictures 1) Teacher divides pupils into five groups. 2) Each group gets four pictures. 3) Each group needs to write at least 3 sentences for each picture. They need to touch on how the animals in the pictures entertain the moon. 4) Pupils also need to create some actions for every picture. For example: They try to dancing and singing in order to entertain the moon 5) Pupils will be monitored by the CCTS: Describing MI: Interpersonal and linguistics intelligences MV: Copy good manner and attitude CCTS: Recalling MI: Linguistics MV: Listen attentively
