Technical Movie Review Computer Passage I. Introduction War Games In the 1983 movie War Games, Mathew Broderick and Ally Sheedy play high school students who inadvertently access the NORAD computer network, thinking that they are simply playing a war game with the computers. He also innocently accesses to WOPR a United States military supercomputer intentional to predict possible outcomes of nuclear war. Mathew who is David Lightman is a bright but unmotivated Seattle high school student and also a hacker. After receiving a decreasing grade in school, David uses his IMSAI 8080 microcomputer to hack into the districts computer system, he then changes his grade same for his friend, Jennifer. This article demonstrates why Lightman was right, for, while the movie may have seemed to be pure science fiction, David was able to change his falling grade through his own computer; since he didnt certainly focused in school and was always unmotivated towards his school education he found an easier way to pass his class. Many scenes in the movie seem to be not so fictional. Consider the following cases:

A Pennsylvania woman faces six felony charges for doing just that. Catherine Venusto, 45, hacked into the Northwestern Lehigh School District computer system and altered the grades of her two children, (ABC News reports).

A student in New Hampshire has been disciplined after hacking into school computers to change his grades. The unidentified minority may also have taken the opportunity to change the grades of his schoolmates.

A student from Albany State University, Derrick Davis, thought he was smarter than his professors by changing his grades. In 2010, Derrick changed four of his grades and none of his instructors noticed till an investigation was held he then admitted how he acquired his instructors password and then log on into the school system to change his falling grades.

Students at Golden High School, Colorado, investigators establish out that students were hacking into the school system to bump up their grades. Many students (hackers) changed their grades for themselves as well for other students just before winter break and the end of first semester.

II. Students hacking computers to change their grades These researched articles have been acknowledged the prompt and advance in the use of personal and private computers (PCs) that gives the possibility for people of all ages to hack into other computers to collect personal data or for students to change their grades. Including extortion,

serious crimes, and credit card fraud, all these unlawful frauds can be create without having to leave home as long as you have a computer or any other devices and access to the internet you can commit these corruptions. In addition, difficulties in obtaining electronic evidence becomes a challenge to law enforcement on going back to track the offender of any age that has committed a law-breaking. Going back to the topic it is a big problem hacking into others computers because theres no realistic reason on why you should hack computers. III. As a matter of fact, in order to prevent teenagers or any person of any age from getting into trouble or getting charges by the law enforcement for committing crimes through the internet and or hacking into school systems, it is important to know how to prevent hackers. I have researched five solutions that can help any victim or just anyone in general. First, it is important to do updates for your operating system and web browser, second, install a firewall on your computer that will prevent outside threats such as hackers from gaining access to your system, third, change your passwords every month, fourth, it is very important to delete emails from unknown sources, and fifth the most significant suggestion is to always be aware!
